Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!This was actually a suggestion from a fellow deviant. And I'm very glad he/she suggested it - I'm pleased with the result
And this was very fun to draw!On a separate note, this is now the third time I've drawn a Goth with a cigarette. Honestly, I'm not trying to promote a smoking in the Goth community - so, kids, don't do it. It bad for you, it makes your clothes smell, and it's expensive - think of all the clothes and music you could buy with the money spent on cigarettes. So no, don't smoke. Not even cloves.
But pretending to smoke with cool cigarette holder is fine

Ooh, I finally found myself too in your list! :gwomp: You know, you could have also mentioned the usual love for cellos/violins and Tim Burton's work, since it is quite common among Dark Cabaret people; and the steampunk genre can relate to Dark Cabaret in some aspects, although I agree there are big differences between them. Oh, and Rasputina also clasifies here, but in the end, most bands nowadays tend to be a mix of different genres - and I think that's a good thing, it all depends on your mood, doesn't it... I'm a quite controversial specimen of punk mixed with cabaret, and god-damn proud of it too!
I have to say I adore your description of the males: combining Dracula, Chaplin and a mime, now that's a really nice way to put it!
Gotta love the whole series... can't wait for the others...

well i preffer to be ortodoxe to define the goth, and i think that these are very distanced. i see more that so many of they have most tendences, than to be a gothic subculture ( the actualy goth, es a counterculture in it majority)

I agree, Marilyn Manson had lots of cabaret in one era of his musical career, in his CD "The Golden ge Of Grotesque". Of all the Goth types, I'm probably between this one and a baby bat.

These are awesome. I wish we could have some more variety in the goth scene. All I really come across are baby bats and mopeys and cybery types. All the specialized old-fashioned types are harder to come across. Whats a NeoVictorian to do...! heh
