Description
Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!Here it is, at last, by popular demand - the Steampunk Goth
I did want to write more on this one, but my Goths are getting larger and larger every time I draw them, so I'm getting less room for writing. I think they'll eventually have to break out of their 500 x 500 pixel frame.As with all my work, this is copyrighted. Do not use it without my express permission.

yes it is the two subcultures blend together alot. I am a steampunk victorian goth- both steampunk AND victorian goth use victorian and essentric styles. But yess victorian goth is more funeralistic victorian but they are similar.
Alot of goths i have seen both incorporate steampunk and goth.

they are called cybergoths. yes steampunk and goth HAS been mixing alot in the scene.

they're more likely to be called "steamgoths" than "steampunks".
but then again, most steampunks aren't all "punk" either.

I absolutely ADORE steampunk! I base much of my look off of it, though it tends to be slightly darker and a little more eclectic.
Really, how cool is the combination of punk, modern technology, and the victorian era? It makes me squeal with joy.

I wasn't so sure this was a Goth type, but you explained it well, especially with the merging
I hate to sound contradictory, but from what I know, the writer Jules Verne was the main inspiration for this genre. I'm sure the others you mentioned can relate to it, but if you've read his works, you can really get that feel for it. It's also on Wiki

There are many Steampunks who agree with you (me), but this is a SUB-TYPE of Goth. It's not really a sub-type of Steampunk. It's more for Goth people who want to be Steampunk.

I dont see how Steampunk is related to Goth in any way... but all the little points you made are pretty nice... but I still can't seem to find a relation at all... ideologies seem too vastly different...

I love all the Goth types there are, your drawings are pretty cool as are your descriptions of each type. I decided to leave just one comment instead of twenty-one comments although I have read all of them. I found I am most like the Baby Bat, it sounds so babyish and cute, but I like it.
