Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love Goth culture (as you should probably know by now!) and I truly believe that Goths are some of the nicest people out there.But it isn't a bad thing to laugh at one's self once in a while
I've never been one to tell people that I don't believe in labels. The fact is, if you dress goth, people are going to call you goth. And you should be proud of it! Being acknowledged as a goth is nothing but a good thing, I believe.
Anyway, this (and other comics) were the "Easter Egg" that was on BlackWaterFall.com, so some sharp-eyed deviants have already seen it

Too many people take Goth a bit too seriously, and the whole "You're not goth unless you don't call yourself a goth" thing has not contributed to it ofcourse.
Us goths are goths. We accept it, embrace it, and show everyone we're just like everyone else, if a bit eccentric. ^-^

Well...i was told it was JUST a type of music and clothing style...though i do find myself loving and enjoying the goth subculture....it's just kind of awkward being told over and over...

This is great and there isn't anything wrong with being called goth (but being called emo, that's when I have to give you a smack down lol).
The only problem is when someone who isn't that style (goth, punk, whatever) calls themself that style. Like, if someone said, "I'm punk" I would probably think they are a poser.

Oh gee-wiz, that's how I am. Like my friends will call me that just because they know it pisses me off. But I always get into a huge rant whenever it happens and they're all like, "Ok, ok! We get it!"

and when persons say they are not goth, they could be emo, punk[of some kind], scene, or another i haven't heard about.

I understand what you're saying, and I the difference between being a punk, a goth or an emo. I'm not saying that I'm irritated when a punk is accused of being a goth and then they correct you by telling someone "I'm a punk." That I can understand. What I was saying is that it irritates me when people dress like a flat out goth, listen to goth music,go to goth clubs, and do everything else a goth does, then hotly deny being one because they seem to think it's a bad thing or because they want to avoid "being labeled." There is nothing wrong with admitting to being a goth. It doesn't mean you have no individuality, or that you're a bad person or anything like that, so you don't have to deny it. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you don't like people getting the impression you're a goth, don't give them the impression that you're a goth. And if you don't want to change yourself, just accept that people are going to label you. It sucks sometimes, but what can you do?

Exactly. Why dress gothic, if you don't want to be called one? To me it makes no sense. And I don't think you really can do anything about being judged or labeled....its just the way it is.....people are cruel and it can't be changed.

I totally agree with u, Goths are so sweet. And labels are for middle school and they don't work in the real world. Like if you work for a major bussiness company, they're not going to hire you because you are/aren't Goth or Emo or whatever. This is cute

I love that her shirt says "Goth" right on it. XD I knew quite a few people in middle school who took themselves waaay too seriously, and got all weird when someone asked them if they were goth. But man, it's nice to find an artist who both appreciates the goth subculture, but doesn't take it too damn seriously.
Man, I dig your art. You're very clever, and the style is pretty fun.
