Um... yeah... this is the first time I've attempted one of these, so I've probably left out a lot of material that I didn't think of. I'm pretty happy with it.Related content

light tan is brown
the colors on the outside are much lighter than what you think they are. You really just have to get used to them. Light peach also works as an okay skin tone by itself, but I'd suggest buying an eggshell.

If you're using prismacolors, don't forget to put at least two peices of paper underneath it! They bleed all the way through.

This is a very good tutorial, but its for working on computer paper.
sketchbooks and other toothed paper will bleed alot more than computer paper, i suggest getteng marker paper or watercolor paper, it bleeds alot less than computer paper, and dries quicker, leaving a whole differnt feeling for layers
also, , you forgot to mention that computer paper and prismacolors ruin your desk... put a piece of cardboard under it if your using computer paper, watercolor and maker paper you should be fine

Oh, I did forget these things... I hope you didn't ruin your desk but, yeah, you have to have something underneath it and computer paper works best for me. I don't have marker paper, though... Anyway, this was more general and I was hoping that it wouldn't be a begining tutorial but a 'helpful hints' kinda thing...

Great! They really are wonderful. I would suggest finding them at your local arts and crafts store and wait for a fifty percent off coupon. If you buy a set with a coupon, you save a ton of money. You'll end up spending ten times as much buying them indevidually.

Hmm... I bought my markers at Aaron bros... but then I bought a giant set of prisma pencils at Hobby Lobby with the same 50% off coupon theory... If you buy a set big enough, you really don't have to worry about number of colors... you can also buy them individually.

Found this really quite useful *has very little experience with Prisma markers and trying to fix that* However, I'm still a little confused.
You mentioned that you'll want to keep the area wet with ink until it's colored right.
I'm confused. lol Everytime I've messed with them I end up with lots of really noticable streaks. How do you avoid this? I thought going fast would work but alas. Any help would be great or even books I could buy. I just can't seem to get the hang of it.
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. ^_^ Thanks!

Ok, to avoid getting streaks, don't just color the area once. What I mean by keeping it wet is go over the area several times while you're working and don't wait for the edge of the color to dry before continuing. When you just put down one streak of color, it dries quickly and leaves you with noticeable color lines. Does that make sense? If it doesn't, I'll try and think of another way to explain it.

That sort of makes sense. I think you're basically meaning to go in shorter strokes instead of one long stroke... right? Doesn't that make the color darker though?
btw, thank you for the help with this. I seem to be marker inept. lol

It makes it a little bit darker, but it looks darker wet than it does when it dries. Once it's dry, it's not nearly as dark as you think it would be.

I still have a lack of a decent inking marker, my lines bleed all over the place. Plus I usually go to close to them and the color bleeds past too... but whatever. I'm still novice.

It just takes a bit of practice. I still bleed over the lines too...

Unfortunatly, they're very pricey ;_; but they are well worth the investment. The best way to purchase them is to find a good cupon from the store you intend to buy them from and get a set.
