When we got this project, I was terribly excited. The teacher simply said to pursue the idea "my pet robot". And off we went.
I started with a pencil crayon sketch on tracing paper, scanned it in and took it into Photoshop CS3, where I painted the hell out of it. This was so much fun. It's the one project I really looked forward to having a free moment to work on.
I got my painting lesson from the amazing Meinart Hansen. No one will likely know who he is, so plug his name into IMDB. It's so great learning photoshop from that guy. He's one of those teachers you really relish learning from.
