And I know. Β I was joking, mostly cause there is at least one scene (I believe related to Equestria girls) where the Mane Six are confused about 'hands'. Β Technically they are hands, but I think most of the other creatures in Equestria still call them 'paws' or 'claws' like Discord and Spike do.

Yeah, though technically a hand is also just a paw with opposable thumbs, which is needed to firmly grasp things. Many monkey species have that, as well as minotaurs. Not to mention Spike is also capable to grasp things, we can see his opposable thumb on many occasion (e.g. link ), therefore we can safely refer to his paws as hands.
Furthermore, the definition of "hands" extends to things that resemble hands, e.g. the feet of apes.
