Description Photoshop Quick Mask is one of the easiest ways to make some very nice looking effects - I thought it's time for someone to make an easy to follow tutorial of it. This isn't a comprehensive tutorial about masks or alpha channels (maybe I'll do one later ) but more like a shortcut to creating successful digital effects. That is why it also contains some useful tips and methods that are very hard to find unless know what you're looking for.

The tutorial is made for Photoshop 7.0 but it should work on other versions too. Oh, and in case you find some typos, logical errors or such I'd appreciate if you told me

It seems that I did something wrong with the previous submission because it didn't show images when viewing online. The edit feature didn't update the online version so I had to submit this again.

Hmm, that is weird. The server is probably being cranky. I hope you have gotten it work by now.

very nice work

i'm thinking it's missing the all powerfull blur filter option
and maybe it's has a little too much text.

overall... i think you can add the blur, touch up the text
and change it to a jpg and we'd love to submit it.

cheers

Ya know. This is one of the very best Quick Mask tutorials I have seen any where on the web or in books. I have used it and often point people here along with my own silly little tut on the pen tool when they ask about this type of work. I was just passing through to copy the url again today and saw that I have never so much as commented on it. WOW! It seems so rude of me. It truly is a great peace of work and I want to thank you late in the ball game or not for sharing this with all of us.

Please have a great day,

Barry

Hmm.. it seems that they have removed the "View deviation online" feature at least for now. I think your only choise is to download the zip, extract it and then open the index.html.
