Description Craig and Split have a chat beneath a strangely quiet overpass. Sometimes places just... fall away from the rest of the world for some reason or another. You can find them if you know the way, but the way there is never the way back.

Split's one of the Vidyadhara's, a very leggy and strange one that I still haven't entirely fleshed out. Craig is, as usual, annoyed and toothy as he always is.

So in the name of actually being able to create decent illustrations in a reasonable amount of time, I'm starting to do more speedpaints. Especially speedpaints with slightly more complicated compositions than my usual.

I honestly consider concrete the most beautiful structural material there is.

Six hours, tablet and CS3.

Agreed. Concrete is gorgeous. I remember this small bike trail that my dad used to take me to when I was about six, and there was a small concrete bridge over a stream. I loved that place!

Now that I know who Craig is, I can appreciate this drawing on a whole new level!

Oh wow...Have I never mentioned my fascination with looming, monochromatic, megalithic structures?? I totally share your feelings about concrete. I often make my way up to the bike path beneath the I-205 bridge ([link] ) and pretend I'm on a distant planet, in the shadow of abandoned alien temples. Seeing a human accompanied by an ("armless" and "faceless"!) exotic being in this context only amplifies the thrill! *Sigh* Back to mundane life. : /

Giant concrete structures are glorious, now I want to draw even more of them

Split's legs rock! His sense of ballance has to be quite highly developed.

Oh, what an unusual pair! I like the human-but-very-not-human-ness of Craig here. Makes you do a double take.

I also am very fond of Split's shape. It's so... shapely and it is lovely in the lighting.

I like the composition, particularly that you placed both figures against plain background.

I really like it a lot. I think my favourite part would be the colours, you really brought in a pearly winter sun look. I like the shading a lot too. Split is really pretty and elegant, I love its ribcage area and the cute tapering feet. I so agree with what you said at the beginning of the description. Every word was spot on for this type of situation.

Thank you so much

I really love the color of the sunset in the winter, it's not quite the same any other time of the year.
