Well, here we are with my latest Danny Phantom pic as Tucker begins his campaign to win his first mayoral election. While Tucker may have been given the job as Mayor at the end of Phantom Planet, it still doesn't change the fact that if he wants to KEEP it, he IS eventually going to have to get elected.What we see here, is an early campaign poster, outlining one of his political platforms. Those of you familiar with the TV series will notice something of a recurring theme from his Student Council President campaign. And you'll also notice that Danny and Sam, just as then, have more than a few misgivings about this particular campaign strategy.
Oh, for those of you who are wondering what the deal is with the robot...well, you obviously haven't read my fanfic series yet. For those of you who have, yes, this is Tucker's robot, built primarily to allow Tucker access to his school classes while conducting his mayoral duties. Ostentatious? Of course.^_^ But it also serves the dual function as a powerful ghost-fighting tool, should the need arise. And in Amity Park, that need arises quite frequently.
Anyway, hope you all enjoy this new pic. Remember, "Mayor Foley" is counting on your support.

Actually, this poster does get a mention in one of my DP fanfics. Kind of an Easter Egg of sorts for people who follow my work from both sides. ^_^

One thing I've been wondering about: If this was the prototype for Tucker's original campaign, how did Danny and Sam end up in the picture?

Which brings up an interesting question. Do you plan to do a pic of Tucker's ACTUAL campaign poster? Since you're at that arc in your series, it would be fitting.

Still, it's kind of amusing that you're beginning this story arc cause the most recent episode of "Gravity Falls" that premiered involved Grunkle Stan running for mayor. Perhaps when you see it, it might give you ideas.

So, how exactly do you plan to portray Tucker's campaign in your series?

Basically, it's going to present itself as linked sidebar storylines within the next four stories I do (possibly more, depending on if more ideas emerge).
- The next story has Tanya taking a meeting with the Chief of Police in an effort to get local law enforcement to publicly endorse Tucker's campaign.
- Next, we'll see a local property issue dragged into the campaign by Tucker's political rivals in an effort to make Tucker look unfit for the job.
- After that, we'll see Tanya preparing Tucker for the upcoming mayoral debate.
- And finally, as Tucker pulls further and further ahead in the polls, one of his opponents desperately resorts to underhanded tactics in a last-ditch effort to sabotage Tucker's campaign, the final week before the election.

Well, I've already kind of subtly hinted at it in "Stolen Years", when Tucker is about to give a speech commemorating the activation of the the new Cybertron computer and Tanya rewrote it to keep him from getting off on too much of a tangent.

With the "Hotep-Ra" story your planning, would that by any chance be another of Vlad's schemes of him using Hotep-Ra like he did Walker and Aragon, or will it have nothing to do with Vlad. If you can't answer due to spoilers, I get it.

Thought about adding Vlad. Rejected it. I don't need Vlad to make this story go. I want it to revolve more around Tucker anyway.

I think I have a plot for a new episode.
Election day is coming fast, and Tucker is running himself ragged to be re-elected (well, technically, just elected because he just took office after Phantom Planet), as mayor of Amity Park.
Unfortunately, he has competition, and from the looks of things, Tuck is sunk.
That is, until Hotep-Ra reappears, hoping to make amends for tricking Tucker the first time.
And, by offering a peace offering in the form of one of Dullaman's personal treasures, and helping out in his re-election, he seems to be on the level.
He even helps Danny and Sam fight off a few rouge ghost.
However, something odd is happening to Tucker.
Since joining the team, Ra seems to be getting more energy, has become more active, and all in all, appears, younger somehow.
At the same time, Tucker is rapidly aging.
Nobody seems to notice at first, as they rarely see Tucker physically.
But, they do notice his maturity rising, along with his priorities being shifted (as well as his voice lowering when they hear him talk).
Team Phantom connect the dots, and realize that Hotep-Ra is not only trying to take over again, but is actually trying to come back to life!
If he succeeds, not only will Ra be alive, but also immortal!
But worse, if Ra is not stopped, Amity park will lose the youngest mayor they've ever had, forever.

You know, I don't want to reject this out of hand, since it actually does sound like a pretty good idea. You also seem to be on the same wavelength as I am in the idea that Tucker may have been APPOINTED to the Mayor's Office at the end of Phantom Planet...but if he wants to KEEP the job, he IS eventually going to have to get elected. Thing is, I'm already planning a Hotep-Ra story (which will also feature the return of Tucker's ghost half, the ghost half that Danny ripped out of his body in the episode, "What You Want"). That's actually going to be the next Danny Phantom story I'm going to write, as a matter of fact.
That's not to say, though, that I wouldn't be able to write this as a story that takes place almost right on election day (since the Hotep-Ra story I'm working on is going to be where Tucker kicks off his Mayoral campaign). It could even be said that Hotep-Ra is actually secretly working for Tucker's opponent, since Tucker has been holding his own, throughout the whole thing (it could also be said that once Hotep-Ra gets what he wants, then Tucker's opponent will have outlived his usefulness). Although I still need to come up with an actual political opponent for him, even if he doesn't end up being prominently mentioned in my fics.
Like I said, it sounds interesting and I'm definitely curious (even if it's a story that wouldn't be written for a while). So let me talk to you a little more about this idea and we'll see what we can bang out, okay?

I have been thinking about Tucker's opponent in his mayoral campaign.
Obviously his opponent will have to be a full grown adult, playing the fact that Tucker is just a teenager.
Also, the idea of Ra working with Tucker's opponent does hold some premise.
But I still like the "Ra trying to make amends" idea.
