Well, here we are. With Halloween only days away, it would pretty irresponsible of me to not throw in a Halloween-themed pic for everyone's enjoyment. So here...we...go.This pic is based on my Danny Phantom fanfic, "Royal Occupation". Set against the backdrop of Halloween, where lots of Casper High students are gracing the school in costume, Sam decides to throw everyone for a loop by coming to school dressed as Danny, of all people. Naturally, this comes as a surprise to most, who were naturally expecting Sam to show up, decked out in an ultra-elaborate, uber-dark, mega-creepy costume. But Sam turns her initially plain outfit on its head by showing there's more than one way to be creepy, as she basically made her costume choice just so she can make out with Danny at school all day and freak everybody else out while she does it. Judging by Tucker and Valerie's reaction, it looks like the plan is coming together nicely.^_^
I have to be honest, I really wasn't sure if I was going to get this pic finished in time. Never mind all the work that had to go into this pic with all the characters on the page and the background (to say nothing of the fact that this was my first time drawing Armored Valerie and there was quite a bit of guess-and-test involved, getting certain details right). But what ended up happening was, I tore up my thumb at work last week (actually, I tore up BOTH my thumbs) and I wasn't sure if it was going to heal enough by the weekend to even TRY and get this pic done. Fortunately, it looks as though luck was on my side (well, that and A LOT of Polysporin), so I was able to sit down and bang this pic out. Definitely gonna want my next pic to be a simpler one, though, but I'm immensely pleased with how this one turned out. Hope everyone else feels the same way.^_^

Well, to be honest, you're not the first person to admit to being a little disturbed by this pic. I'll admit, my intention for this scene was for it to be freaky to the characters and not the audience. But if that effect has managed to bleed out of the fourth wall a little bit, I suppose I can take a small measure of pride in that as well.
Hope you still like the pic, regardless of its creepiness.^_^

Well, I'm glad you like the pic. And like I say, I wasn't planning to freak out the audience. But I suppose I can take a measure of pride in this, knowing that the pic created a secondary response other than what was mostly intended.^_^

I'm not quite sure how to feel about it, sounds a bit off putting, yet a bit kinky for Sam to do... maybe I'd feel better if it wasn't an exact copy of his outfit.

Well, Sam did dress up like Danny twice on the TV show. And I don't think anyone can tell me that she didn't feel at least something of a guilty thrill wearing Danny's clothes while she did it. But as for her clothes looking EXACTLY like Danny's, well, as she and Danny explained in "Royal Occupation", the idea of them looking exactly alike was "the heart of the bit". That's why Danny, himself, wasn't in costume at all. And the whole point was for Sam to be off-putting and creepy to anyone who saw them. So I guess when you say you don't know how you feel about it, that kind of got the job done, too. Granted, I was more going for freaking out the CHARACTERS than the audience, but if it did have that effect on some, I guess I can take a certain measure of pride in that, too.^_^

I knew she did that in the show, but i'm not familiar with the story you mentioned. I think the feeling I kind of described in my original comment was pretty much a why-boner. My name here on this site alludes to my feels towards Sam, but this look by itself isn't for me at all. The attitude behind it however is a bit of a turn-on though, as I like the idea of Sam wanting to mess with people in that manner. It's not exactly creepy, just confusing on first look.

Well, the story I mentioned, "Royal Occupation", was actually mine. It's part of my ongoing Danny Phantom fanfic series and where this pic originated from.
Truth be told, I'm all about love for Sam, too. That's part of the reason she's half ghost in my fics (and more than a few of my pics). As for the pic itself, you weren't the first person to be a little confused. A couple people have already admitted to seeing the thumbnail and doing a double-take, going, "Okay, I GOTTA get me a closer look at THIS. What is goin' on HERE?"
As for the thought behind it being kind of a turn-on, I'm sure Sam would agree with you. Yeah, she'd definitely want to mess with people's heads like this. But at the same time, I'd say there's also a bit of a guilty thrill for her to be actually wearing Danny's clothes. The same thrill she felt when she put together her own ghost costume in my fanfic series and it was mostly made up of one of Danny's suits.^_^

Okay, I'm glad there was an explanation, because at first I thought the "other Danny" was *Danielle,* and that was REALLY creeping me out...

Well, this is why my explanations tend to be so long-winded. After all, I want to make sure the audience knows what's happening (although I'm not sure how Danielle would have gotten older). Still, I've had at least one person still a little creeped-out, even though they knew it WAS Sam. And while that wasn't my intention, I suppose I can take a small measure of pride in knowing that this idea had that kind of effect on some of the audience as well, not just the characters.^_^

I just realized something. In your pic, Valerie is wearing her armor, but from what I read in your story, she didn't wear it until the Halloween dance.

Well, I kind of meant for Valerie to be in her armor in that opening scene, but looking back on it, I guess I never did write it in. Still, if you look back at that same opening scene, Tucker wasn't there, either. Only his robot was. So if you want to put this at any point in the canon of the story, I suppose you could have it be a hidden scene where the dance is just about to start and they're all waiting out in the hall to get in.^_^

I just realized something else. This is the first time you've DRAWN Valerie's armor.

Which is something I made a point of mentioning in the pic description. Like I said, there was a lot of guess-and-test involved. But it all came out alright...one thing in particular being the sheen I put on her visor, which I almost chickened out on trying because I wasn't sure I could get it to look right. Fortunately, I was able to utilize a couple of techniques I've used on other things to come up with a method that worked. Or at least, I think it works. It's just one of those little bells and whistles that I went that extra mile to add and in the end, I was very glad that I did because I was proud of the end result.
