Well, here we are. With Halloween only days away, it would pretty irresponsible of me to not throw in a Halloween-themed pic for everyone's enjoyment. So here...we...go.This pic is based on my Danny Phantom fanfic, "Royal Occupation". Set against the backdrop of Halloween, where lots of Casper High students are gracing the school in costume, Sam decides to throw everyone for a loop by coming to school dressed as Danny, of all people. Naturally, this comes as a surprise to most, who were naturally expecting Sam to show up, decked out in an ultra-elaborate, uber-dark, mega-creepy costume. But Sam turns her initially plain outfit on its head by showing there's more than one way to be creepy, as she basically made her costume choice just so she can make out with Danny at school all day and freak everybody else out while she does it. Judging by Tucker and Valerie's reaction, it looks like the plan is coming together nicely.^_^
I have to be honest, I really wasn't sure if I was going to get this pic finished in time. Never mind all the work that had to go into this pic with all the characters on the page and the background (to say nothing of the fact that this was my first time drawing Armored Valerie and there was quite a bit of guess-and-test involved, getting certain details right). But what ended up happening was, I tore up my thumb at work last week (actually, I tore up BOTH my thumbs) and I wasn't sure if it was going to heal enough by the weekend to even TRY and get this pic done. Fortunately, it looks as though luck was on my side (well, that and A LOT of Polysporin), so I was able to sit down and bang this pic out. Definitely gonna want my next pic to be a simpler one, though, but I'm immensely pleased with how this one turned out. Hope everyone else feels the same way.^_^

Well, I guess after looking at the main page, the point of the group is so this guy can collect a bunch of DP pics and send them to Nickelodeon if he has enough. A friend of mine took it upon himself to send a few of my pics to the group (thatr's how devoted a fan he is) and that's how I found out. Although apparently, in the pic description, you're supposed to include the phrase "BRING DANNY BACK!", which is something I didn't do.^_^;

Well, I'd like to think my style follows the natural evolution of how the characters started looking as the series went on (after all, they looked noticeably more toon-like in Season 1 than they did in Season 3). But I try to follow the original style as closely as possible. There was a time in my youth that I wouldn't have been able to mimic another person's style at all. It's only been in the last few years that I've unlocked this ability.^_^

I kind of like my artwork for draw more attention to my fanfics and for my fanfics to draw more attention to my artwork. But then, also, the other point is for everyone to enjoy both as well.^_^

Danny looks a lot darker in human form than he usually is. Maybe one of the lights on the ceiling died and he just happens to be under it?

Well, the thing is, it's just how my artwork for Danny has turned out over time. You don't really notice it in any of the pics where he's in Ghost mode, but in his human pics, it's definitely noticeable. I'm not sure why, exactly. I took the color pallet for Danny (as well as most of the characters) from some stills I collected off the net. Maybe I just used a darkened pic or something, because Danny started coming out looking oddly tanned. Still, it's something I decided to go with, mostly because I thought it would make for a good contrast to Sam and make her look more pale, highlighting her goth persona.

Well, when I was coming up with the visual for the pic, I thought about them kissing at first. But I ultimately dismissed the idea almost as quickly as I came up with it, because I knew if I did, Sam would be obscured somewhat. And I wanted the spotlight of this pic to be firmly on her and her "Danny" look. So I compromised with a pic of just them holding each other. Still, I had to make sure their heads and bodies were lined up right, or else the pic still wouldn't have worked.
Actually, more than one person has admitted to being disturbed by this pic, already. One, because until they read the description, they thought Sam was actually Danielle (not quite sure how they think Danielle would have aged...I'm guessing they haven't read my fanfic series ^_^). And one who was uncomfortable with the pic, regardless of the fact that it was Sam. I'll admit, my intention for this scene was for it to be freaky to the characters and not the audience. But if that effect has managed to bleed out of the fourth wall a little bit, I suppose I can take a small measure of pride in that as well.

I think this is a clever way of allowing both groups what they want: for DannyxSam fans like me, this means a bit of interesting, yet still canonical, humor.
For yaoi fans... well, they can do what they like with it... I won't involve myself with it, but I can see this satisfying two groups... XDDD
So clever! XD And it totally seems like something Sam would do, too... I wonder if she let Danny know ahead of time, and why Danny doesn't have a costume... Hmmmm... Something tells me Danny would be a bit weirded out by it, though...

Actually, yes, I am all about DXS, as my fanfic series will bear out. As for that certain splinter group in the yaoi community that's been slowly gaining strength here in recent months, no, I'm not gonna get down with those guys, either. But when I was developing the visual for this pic, I'd be lying if I said the possibility of it getting their attention didn't cross my mind at least once.^_^;
As for the scene, itself, yeah, I could totally picture Sam doing this as well (which is why I had them doing it in my fanfic...and subsequently here, too). As for Danny not having a costume, well, it's explained in "Royal Occupation" that the two of them looking alike was "the heart of the bit", which would indicate that she did notify Danny ahead of time. Still, I'm not sure Danny would be too weird-ed out by it. After all, he knows it's still Sam he's gonna be kissing. And since the two of them got together, I'm sure he's been exposed to much more bizarre facets of her personality. Makes you wonder, though, if Sam will hold onto the wig for certain "conjugal" benefits during their wedded years.^_^

Yeah, well, with Tucker as Mayor of Amity Park and Danny and Sam both half ghost, I guess that would make Valerie the most normal one. Although the armor is actually hers. The original suit that Vlad supplied her with was actually destroyed, but then, upgraded by Technus in the episode, "Flirting With Disaster".

I do find it funny How Technus upgrades Valerie's suit far better than what Vlad can do. I guess that Vlad's money cannot buy the best

Yes, even Vlad was surprised at Valerie's upgrade when he first saw it in the episode, "D-Stabilized" (although he never discovered that it was Technus who was behind it). Still, Technus being behind Valerie's upgrade does cause some potential problems, such as in my fanfic, "Pairing Off". In one scene, Valerie tries to attack Technus, who then remotely deactivates her armor.
