Remember that big project I've been mentioning in my past several journals? This is it!!!
BAM. Giant, epic, full-detailed-double-background-shiny-sci-fi soft-cell shaded comish for StormKern of FA in his lab on the left, Mallikeet of FA in his lab on the right, and the coolest desert dragon with the best chin and scales and guns around, me in the portal in the middle!
Muzafr is clearly weirded-out as she steps from Storm's high-tech lab and into the lightning-filled portal...guided by Malli into his own lab, resembling more of a bunker or storm shelter. She's perturbed, not used to this kind of technology, being more accustomed to bolt-action rifles. (Of the Nikki variety.)
This is definitely one of the most involved pieces I've ever had the pleasure of doing - second only to my own ref sheet, lol! This piece has been in the works for several months - mostly just working out the details in text, then me finally getting a chunk of time to work on it! Exchanged quite a few wips between Storm and Malli to nail all the details and atmosphere they wanted for their respective labs.
But again, wow, just wow, this piece. I've blown myself away. XD Not only one background, but two? BAM. In your face.
Perspective was fun to work on - I didn't make it as 'extreme' as I was planning just due to the amount of space allotted for each lab, and also to avoid them getting cluttered. Was a good exercise and makes me want to work on it more.
Light source, eh, is pretty relaxed, what can I say. I was moreso focused on the overall atmosphere and ambient lighting rather than a single light source for either side. (Multiple light sources? Sorcery!)
In other news, I'm really, really, really happy with how all the anatomy turned out on all three chars. I don't know, they strike me as particularly nice in this piece. *shrugs*

Of all the things that stood out, it had to be the lab coats on the right. I'm guessing that's what they are, because they LOOK like dragon skins...before I read the description I thought Muzafr was being teleported from a lab to a prison cell to be tortured or to be the next trophy. (That glass looks like a one-way mirror of interrogation rooms) Glad it's not, though that'd be an interesting story.

Well, anyhow, here is the explanation of those suits in Mallikeet's lab from his the pic I wanted to show you:
"The Rain Dragons from before as anthros!
Bit of story behind these...
At first, thousands of years before their current existence, the blue and silver one was a true dragon, and the golden one was actually a human whom was paired with him as his rider/master. They went through many battles on their planet together, and such a respect grew between them that it basically became an affection. To fulfill this affection, the human had himself transformed to the gold and blue dragon so they could be together as equals.
Sadly they were both killed some time later in a friendly fire incident, but their souls were preserved Horcrux-style. As was their plan, thousands of years later the artifact containing their souls was found, and they were both implanted in to transformation suits, which basically serve to transform a human wearer within the suit to the dragon it depicts.
They were able to be alive and active on their own without a wearer, and they always spent their time together of course. However, when they do manage to both get wearers, the wearers instantly become attracted to and fall in a deep, passionate love for eachother as soon as they are transformed, and for as long as they are transformed.
This pic here shows them without wearers, as on their own they are genderless. They adapt to whichever gender the wearer is or wishes to be upon transforming them. They are also able to pick anthro or feral."
