Description A redesign of the Fusion suit from Metroid Fusion. I referenced a promo photo of Figma's MP3 Samus figure for the pose and proportions. I tried making the style more in line with the Prime series taking some inspiration from the P.E.D. suit.

Fusion was the first 2D Metroid game I ever played, and while I hate how often the game stops you for exposition I still think it's a great Metroid game. I think it has the most satisfying game feel of the 2D games honestly (although i hate the nerfed wall jump).

I dig the glowing effect you added to the suit.

I see how the P.E.D. suit from Prime 3 played a role in that.

The pose and detail of the suit looks great, too! Keep it up!

Honestly, I have little else to add.

Fusion's a fun game, though I liked Zero Mission a little more as far as GBA Metroids go, but I digress...

Good art, fun game.

Fusion really was the shot in the foot for the franchise, but at least they're trying to re-engage the series.

Post Super, Fusion and Prime 2 are easily the most creative and forward thinking in the series. While Fusion has some annoyances, it's much more admirable than Zero Mission and certainly better than Samus Returns.Β

creative? eh...well, it's original.

Forward thinking, that's another story (looks at exposition dumps, linearity andΒ the fact that since this was a handheld game, it was somewhat forced into a formula that supported short bursts of gameplay.)

Creative in the way of expanding what Metroid can be- Fusion to me spelled out a lot of promise for the series' future in the way that Metroids literally being in Samus' DNA meant that Metroids no longer had to be in the game(one of the biggest things holding the series back creatively and narratively).Β

I didn't say Fusion was perfect by any means- the exposition is a real momentum killer. But I generally think its linearity suits the design(Super Metroid is more linear than most people would care to admit imo), and like Super, Fusion is prone to sequence breaking.

Super Metroid may well be the most perfect game ever made(and is tied for my favorite game ever made), but if there's one thing that feels stale about it, it's that it's basically a SNES remake of the NES original. In this way, Fusion feels more like a bonafide sequel/leap forward.Β Β

if it wasn't for the whole "gameboy advance" platform limitation, yeah I could see where you're coming from.

Had this colors and graphics exist in the 80/90 i would have been blown away by the game.
Still it remembers me to the good old childhood times. ^^
Awesome depiction and damn the colors are great.

I love this Design very faithful to the original.

My first Metroid game was actually Prime 1 second was Zero Mission.

I like this.Β  I wasn't wild for the original Fusion Suit design; I honestly expected it to be more overtly organic based off early game prototypes and plot summary.Β  The final result was just...awkward.Β  This seems like a more faithful look, especially considering the Fusion Suit was built over what was left of the original suit.

Metroid Fusion on the GBA was also my first Metroid experience

Zero Mission is also great - I highly suggest it, along with Super Metroid.

After you've played those, you will finally be ready for the ultimate test: AM2R.
Reddit will guide you.
