holy heck, I remember like 1-2 years ago just randomly daydreaming about even reaching the end of of act 1 alone, man. it feels nice to be able to reach some kind of arbitrary milestone. it's even at the beginning of 2017, so it just feels right. kinda wish I coulda ended it at an even 20 chapters but eh, WHADDYA GONNA DO.
thanks a bunch for sticking with this overblown fanfiction comic of mine!! whether you were reading early on, super recently, or several years in the future, I really appreciate it and I'm glad y'all are enjoying it 'w' I'm super pumped to get into act 2, since a looot of stuff I'm looking forward to happens and it also has some of my personal favorite characters, BUT we'll get to all that eventually. there are also a few changes I'm considering wrt update schedules, style, and being able to make pages faster... but those are talks for another time.
speaking of schedule, this will also obviously be the end of the super frequent updates, which... I kinda went off schedule for a few times anyway, but hey it was still more frequent than "vaguely once a month" :V
anyways, see you for the rest of 2017 β¨

This page was really well done. Just how it was layed out from the scattered beginnings in grief and then as it kind of slowly warmed up a bit. I'm glad all of them are working together now and just a whole lot more cooperative from their previous stance.

I liked this page with them slowly getting over the death of their teammate. The time passing was shown very effectively. Great character growth and everything!
Congratulations on getting through the first act! So far, this is probably my favorite nuzlocke to read! I look forward to Act 2!

Man, congrats on ending Act 1! One out of...however many you're gonna have :0
Man, the first part really broke my heart? ?? Because you portrayed going through the grief of losing someone but slowly having to move on in such a spot-on way that it took my breath away.
The dark, desaturated, cool colors you used were just perfect in conveying the tone. It contrasts with the dawning light you give to the second half, with Leon coming to terms with the loss and training to move on. You always use colors brilliantly, and this is just one other instance of it.
But man, I just want to give these kids hugs and blankets. Especially Leon. I want to scoop up the anxious lanky croc boy ;A;
Plus, it must be super awkward to train with the woman that sort of accidentally caused your friend's death.

But ahhhh gosh thank you so much!! There were so many rewrites and edits and abandoned scripts to get this whole portion to come across the way I wanted it to, so I'm really glad all that work is coming through and that it's being received so well ;w;
And LOL, yeah maybe a liiiiitle awkward to hang with your pal's sorta-killer :V I didn't really include it directly, but I kinda wanted to imply that being okay with training with her was part of how they're getting past the death. The intention was that the fact that they're with her and being friendly to each other shows the progress? :0 Basically just showing no hang ups, haha.

The colour choices are SPOT on. That shift to daylight finally starting to shine on them again is absolutely perfect.

Man. That healing feels...super poignant. Slow and awkward, but undeniably real. Like...yeah, losing a friend hurts, but life goes on. And eventually, you gotta keep moving forward. It hurts, sure, but that's life. And the way you represented that in comic strip form...feels so right to the actual healing process.
Congrats on finishing Act 1, and know I'll be sticking around for all the acts left to come.
