I'm kind of curious. How does Template know enough about Ink to want to have him as his idol? Has he met him? I doubt there's a multiversal TV showing what's going on around the multiverse.
Also, does either of these cuties have a Papyrus? Error has a Papyrus that is lost.

He caught glimpses of Ink when he started watching AUs through his screens. He can't directly see into the Doodle Sphere, but since Ink visits AUs, he sometimes caught him and got curious.
Template's and Pale's background histories are identical to Error's and Ink's, same goes for their histories with their Papyruses. :3

Template must have something different in his backstory since he seems have different powers than Error. (his pen for exemple, so the possibility to...
"create" things). Maybe a "crash" who has changed him?!
For Pale, it seems be the same backstory than Ink, except than he has not been lucky as Ink (the vials). Poor guy

They work like TVs in a way, yes. Actually I believe that Template can create two different ways of portals, one being the ones that are visible from both sides and serve as doorways, the other one working more like a screen, being invisible to the other side and nothing passes through, like shown here in this comic :3
