Yes, those are models. Low poly, and you can't see any detail (what little there is) from the distance.

I came up with an idea for a Dieselpunk ship game, and I decided to do a layout for the HUD. If I had to relate it to other products, I'd say EVE Online meets Star Wars: Empire at war.

This HUD was done in photoshop. I don't know how to make games in any way, shape or form.

Early idea, so I'm aware it probably isn't perfect.

Well then.

So, the idea is that you control an entire ship. If you ship has the capabilities, you can control Fighters, Bombers or Scouts like pets and send them off to attack ships, other fighters/bombers or scout (further than your ship is capable of seeing).

These 'pets' and yourself move as if it was an RTS, you point and click where you want them to go (or calculate a path/travel a trade route if you need to go a long distance).

Once you pick up a ship, you lock on them. You select a locked on target and tell your weapons to fire on them. Anti-Air operates in defense rating, you tell the crew to man it or not, which consumes power in the ship.

IF you know how to make a game... smack my bitch up over a note.

nice layout, i like the abilities controls... this reminds me not of eve though i can see some of it, but of another game i like called "pacific storm" it has some features like you're describing but yours looks more intricate. i would love to play this game, and wish i knew more about designing games, because i would love to help on this

"I don't know how to make games in any way, shape or form." There are some freeware/shareware game engines out there. At least there was when I was working in animation.

Yeah, I've browsed around before. Some seemed appealing, but I lost all interest in them as I did with 3d a few months ago, so my desire sort of atrophied. I should get around to looking into them again.
