Too bad Tutorial doesn't begin with a V, that would be cool. ^____^Ok this is for =talster . I know it's a bit confusing and what, but I'll be happy to answer any questions. Vector rocks!!
I hope this helps. And I will be posting 2 more Tutorials. One one Compound Paths, Gradients and Transparencies and a Basic Color one. ^___^

[link] Actually, the tools don't really change much, their capabilities can be improved, but for the most part, the essential tools always do the same thing. There are some newer tutorials in there a year or two old.

The link is to a gallery folder of mine of tutorials that I've done. They're all for Adobe Illustrator. My point was, regardless of when the tutorial was made, it will usually be pretty relevant because the tools used in the program haven't changed (all that much). Unless you're talking about my own personal technique... which is actually the same one I've been using since I first started posting on this site.

Actually unless you're dead set on using the pencil tool, the mouse is excellent for vector. Everything in my gallery was made with a mouse. ^____^

this tutorial really lays it down! I dont get to use illustrator as often as I'd like (I dont own a copy of illustrator) but when I can I know for sure I'll be much more prepared with your handy info. I can't believe you're doing 3 deviations for my request! I'm really blown away pal. I definitely need to get you a gift back, hopefully theres something you might have in mind I can craft for ya

Yeah I was the same way until I got into college. Then after a bunch of my professors pushing me into it, I tried illustrator with my roommate helping me because I'm a total spaz. Well I was going to do 2, but then I realized how big this first one is. And I want my tutorials to be accessable to everyone. I know how crappy it is to have a dial up connection too. I'm glad you like them. I'm kind of excited about doing the color one. The only thing I was good at in college was color theory ^____^.

yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to the color part. hehe, yeah many people tell me my animations resemble color wheels. hmmm, small animations happen to be my specialty, but could you be more specific? post a reference sketch? should I try to emulate something? would it just be abstract or would it have characters or sound? dont worry if you dont have any specifications, I'll come up with something otherwise hehe ~

You could always put a silent V before the T in Tutorial. Vashtastic's Vector Vtutorial. It's...German.
