Description

Lesson four of intermediate light magic!

This week the class was practicing a powerful yet dangerous ability centered around purification.  To practice, the students were given the remains of the corrupted nova tree.  Each gem appeared blackened, sickly, and the slightest touch easily sent shivers down Cobalt's spine.  While Graw'falla saw a practical use of the shards, Cobalt found it a bit more unsettling than he wanted to admit.  Here, in the palm of his paw, rested a remnant of a once great being now reduced to a fragment of failure.  Failure.  It wasn't a failure on just one front, either--  it could be interpreted in far too many ways.  His stomach began to ache with a ghostly pain from the past warptide night.  His jaw clenched as he stared down at the faded crystal, eyeing his brooding reflection...

... and through that reflection it stared back for, perhaps, a bit too long...

For giggles here is the non-animated version:

I spent a lot more time on this than I should have.  Yikes.  Welp, at least it's done now~

Just so you all know, Saga is super beautiful and amazing to draw.  Holy crap!  She's simple but not too simple and extremely pleasant on the eyessssssss.

Saga belongs to

Cobalt belongs to meeeeeee

Oh, oh my why thank you!

I used a program called Spine (by Esoteric Software) that allows you to assign what they call "bones" to images and move them about.  It's a really fun skeleton/puppet program that does a pretty good job.  Time consuming, but enjoyable!

Ack, thank you!

;o; Deary me, it really was a shocking experience.  Nothing like holding a shard of a dead tree and being expected to purify the darn thing.

Ah!  I used a program called Spine by Esoteric Software.  It's a really easy and nice program that certainly gets the job done.

Also, I can't help but hurt him.  He's so fun to abuse <3

Holy shit, the faint animation movement just adds so much more emotion to the piece. A sad reminder.

Poor Cobalt and his stomach :c
