Description Can you spot the guardian?
I'd love to know how would you interpret this work.
Go ahead and tell me what's in that cave

I started this work couple of weeks ago, never thought I'll finish it, because I didn't like the way it turned out at first. But today I got back to it anyway and finished it.
hope you like it

My first thought about what's in the cave is an earth dragon guarding his hoard, hoping that an intelligent human might walk by one day, one who would be worth talking to and perhaps share stories with.

I think i interpret it like this: some travelers seeking a little shelter for the night during their trip to the mountain, light a fire to keep themselves warm. What they did not notice through the freezing hail and biting winds of the northern mountainscape is the sleeping guardian: a being of mystic nature made out of ice colder than the very place it was born in and harder than the finest metal. A guardian of a secret. A very ancient secret, that should not see the light of day...
And its about to awaken to eliminate any and all "threats"...

btw. incredibly lovely piece, snowy landscapes have a very special feel to them, wonderful

*thinking, imagining*
...
..um... that's not a cave... Six steps beyond the entrance, and you fall into a deep icy abyss. If you survive, you shall see a great knight looking down on you.......
.....but oh, that's just yourself. Now that you know this, go ahead.

I spot the guardian's giant helmet, which got me to think that it might be the spirit of the frozen mountains. The shinning seems to be from a magical source, a very powerful treasure/sword/armor which the guardian protects.

My interpretation: It's an ancient Nordic place, lost and forgotten in antiquity, and the guardian with his helmet still on, is a Jotun.
The light inside the cave is from a bonfire, made by lost, weary travelers, warming themselves by the fire while exchanging stories (the ones they know) of the Norse gods of long ago.

I've discovered the guardian. Nice, just as I imagine a guardian.

And my interpretation of the work? Hmm...

It might sound weird, but for me the cold of this landscape is hopelessness. A cold world which all of us live in, but the light of the cave is the hope, close to the guardian. That we are all loved, even in the cold of this world. In my eyes, not even the cold winter can hide the love of something so huge. I also intepret that the guardian: I think we can't understand it, even when we see him, but we are still loved and somewhere out there is someone or something which believes in us, no matter what.

That's my way of seeing this picture. Great work, really wonderful work.

I love the textures!!~ =3=

hmmm... as for my interpretation....

It kind of looks like lantern light to me =3=

So I think that a group of explorers are resting in that cave. And the guardian in the background is a remnant of some ancient civilization.

"Long Ago when the ancients stood tall in this world there came a time for their departure leaving relics scattered across the land. The most stunning of which were the guardians, the ancients who chose themselves to vigilantly watch over this world as they continued to protect the vast beauty of this world.
There is a mountain range far too the east where sits a frozen summit where a guardian sleeps. Along its sleeted path it winds and coils across the body of the mountain and when one reaches near the summit they can see an awe inspiring sight to behold. Melded into the mountainside itself sits the relic of the guardian, his ancient armor covered in the cold blue frost of the mountain. But perhaps more peculiarly so is the eerie yellow light which echoes from the cave beset into the large helmet at the end of cliff-side path.
Many have fallen prey to fear and ran from its amber light but there are few among us just curious enough so; to venture inside. One might expect monsters or other worldly beings within or perhaps even just a derelict cave of frost and emptiness.... But the Truth is so much more....
As you enter the warm glow of light emanating from the mouth of the cave the cold chill of the summit begins to empty itself from your body and you discover that the cave itself is eerily warm. If not for curiosity pushing you forward the warmth itself is more than welcoming and too comforting to leave. The inside of the cave itself is strangely set in ancient stone walls smooth faces of stone creating a large hallway with columns of softly echoing fire deep-set into the walls. You can feel a presence pulling you forward unknown but not unfamiliar as you begin your slow march down the hallway to what you perceive is a large room at the end. It is not until you reach the very end do you discover what is there to truly behold.
As you leave the hallway you are greeted bye and impossibly large cavern decorated with castle monuments and walkways stretching far and wide; a labyrinth of beautiful architecture not seen for centuries. And as you stand upon the stone steps taking in all you see It is then that he chooses to greet you.
In place such as this his voice alone should stir fright but its presence is not ominous but in fact inviting.
"It is a beautiful place is it not?" His voice echoes out from behind you.
You turn to see a young man dressed in old robes his dark hair short and eyes blue as the frost which surrounds the mountainside.
He steps forward passing you and moving to the edge of the walkway to stare off into the distance to an ancient monument the likes of which resemble a town hall or a library.
I asked him then "How long have you been here stranger?" My voice echoing my curiosity as I watched him.
Turning he smiled "I have been here since the beginning. Since this cave came into existence. It is both my home and my world" he stared at me quizzically for a moment. "Tell me stranger do you know you are?" His question resonated in my mind as I begun to piece together the events that led me here and the things that I had seen. I paused briefly to gather my words before I looked into the young man’s eyes and spoke "I believe that this cave is the remnant of the guardian which slumbers against this mountain. Should this be true then I am to believe that you are..." My sentence fell short as I stopped to assess what i was saying. To anyone else I would have sounded like a mad man but strangely the young man seemed happy and not perturbed by my words. His smile widened as he stepped forwards to me "You are correct" he said as he placed his upon my shoulder. It was then as the fatigue of the climb begun to fade from my body that the realization occurred to me and I bowed forward as was customary in my culture. "It is an honour to meet you.... Guardian" My words seemed worlds apart as the sentence barely made sense in my mind. But the Guardian did not waver as he stepped to my side. "As it is you; young one. These are the halls of my mind. Come, I have much I wish to teach you" I smiled then hearing his words and as we both walked forth into the great city I felt that great things were soon too come...."

This is what i see, or at least how I interpret the story. It's the story that your beautiful picture describes too me.
Anyway I Hope you like it and thank you for the inspiration.
