Hope you all enjoy it! I did another one a little while ago making the ribbon kind but this is all about elastic ^_^A simple tutorial on making elastic sock toppers.

I skimmed due to time constraints...but if I understand..this is so you can make ANY of your socks look lacey?

Yes, that's correct! You can take plain socks and just add the lace section

This would actually be called a 'garter' by the way. The deviation title actually confused me a bit at first until I read through the tutorial.

Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^ This tutorial was originally written as a Lolita fashion request and in that style they are known as sock toppers and generally worn just to jazz up knee high socks. They definitely could be used as non-functional garters though and in the context of the photo being worn on the thigh it does make sense as another use so I'll have to update the description. Thanks!

Simply because they're not functional and worn above the knee makes them any less of a sock garter - most people that wear garters now usually aren't wearing them for any functional reason no matter what type of fashion they're being worn with. Either way, cute design and a well put together tutorial no matter what it's called.
