Can you tell me what to do with the Shellstyle.dll in the Bottom Common Tasks folder. Other than that it works perfect!

Vishal-Gupta In reply to AquaFugit [2009-08-09 19:38:59 +0000 UTC]

Its an extra shellstyle which puts common tasks as bottom instead of left. You'll need to replace existing shellstyle.dll file present in "SevenVG" theme folder with this one.

I have got SevenVG RC and Windows 7 Onix installed. Now,I took VistaVG folder from your pack to get Vista toolbar.I put VistaVG folder in ...\skins\styler folder.Than I disabled Addressbar and standard bar buttons and I applied VistaVG from Styler toolbar menu;(enabling also hide menubar).Everything ok.Just, the address bar is not working;I think, probably, because it's disabled, but if I enable it the Vista toolbar goes cutted off.Of course, this is not big problem;also with address bar not working I can get any other folder from every window.Just,I would like to know if this is normal or there is something wrong. Is there a way to get Vista toolbar and working address bar as well? Please, let me know something.Always grateful.

It's no problemo at all, I just put everything on the picture what I thought actually in last two days since I was start written all here, in a case if we did not quite understand ich other in mutual, I just want to be sure, that's all...
So, I understand even yesterday those issue which you described as WinXP OS limitation...
But, when I draw the picture, I simply put everything interesting on it... That's all...

And thank you about an info that Windows7 has really that big "Superbar", I really did not try yet the Windows7 at all, but I will...

-----------------

And, you mentioned me a "SevenVG RC Basic version", that will give the option which I mentioned earlier in one of my previous post all here as c) figure, to put a:

c) "Can you make still a support for an option, that can, as just an option, put back our names beside a User picture in the totally upper part of the Start Menu. In RTM Vista it is gone as an option, last really supported by Microsoft in older Win XP OSs, I know..., but I just ask, can this be still made all here as an supported option by You..."

---

- You see, I simply cannot be able to found those of yours theme (the "SevenVG RC Basic version"), I was only be able to found these theme of yours:

[link]

But here, I cannot simply found what I looking for... Maybe I found a wrong theme of yours, or maybe I did something wrong...

----------------------

And totally last here, outside any context, just a my last thought on changing Windows look in generally...
People very much like to change their Logon Screens to have a WinVista or Win7 look... What most of people like is also that it is written really on this WinVista or Win7 logon screens, right this: "Windows Vista Ultimate", "Windows 7 Ultimate", because it is nice that many (even our self's) will thought that you have cool new Windows OS, and instead of that you still working on MSWinXP OS...

But, many people just want to change their logon screen because it is simply boring to have this blue and old MSWinXP logon screen all this years... And some of them, a pretty number of, especially older and not so computer experienced users, want to change their boring blue WinXP logon screen, with WinVista or Win7 logons, but, they would rather like to see that on this new logon screens it is still bellow written "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" and not something different and wrongly input, a "Windows Vista Ultimate" or "Windows 7 Ultimate".

For e.g., if you ask my mother before a few years on which OS she was working, until I did not ask here then, is she see a blue sky picture, she did not remembered that she working on good and old MSWin98SE, and my father, if you give him a logon screen that it is written "Windows Vista Ultimate" he will really believe wrongly that he works out on Windows Vista Ultimate, but in a totally true, he works out still on good and old MSWinXPSP3.
That's the reason why I just thought that when everybody consider to create a new WinVista or Win7 logon screen, maybe it will be smart to support also all the WinVista Edition logon screens all here (Basic, Home, Ultimate...), but it will be nice if someone can change bellow letters, an give the still supported option that instead a Windows Vista Ultimate (or similar) we still have written all here also this: "Microsoft Windows XP Professional".
This will still be great for the people like my mother, father...., who likes all new Background design of WinVista or Win7 logon screen very much, but they mixed up knowledge about Windows OSs in generally, because they are not computer knowledge people so much, and for them it will be better that it is written good and old "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" on those logon sreens, instead an originated ones: "Windows Vista Ultimate..., Windows 7 Ultimate..."

I do not know how to create this by my self, I am simply here a commentator, that's all. It's the true that I would really need this personally, first for my parents than anybody else with similar problem (a common people, not so well IT educated persons...), but, like I said, maybe it is the most smart way to consider to everybody that creates new logon screens in generally, and they are really know how to do that quite professionally all here via Deviantart and similar, maybe they just want to consider my asking, that's all that I ask...

------------------

- Bruno (gush, that will be me...), is a quick and quite long writer...
My apologize to everybody in advanced!
I just like describe anything that I wrote in thoroughly detailed to everybody to understand me. And I often like to use most common and quite IT un-professional way to describe something, because it is easier to IT Pro to understand me on that way, than to totally laik, a vice-versa...

------------------

Once more, Vishal-Gupta, very great thank you for all of yours replies!

Brunej In reply to ??? [2009-03-31 20:51:58 +0000 UTC]

Thank You Vishal for all the answers once more!

I try that Theme also today, but, in one of my 1280x800 resolution laptop, when I stretch / expand TaskBar&StarMenu to one higher level than default, this vertical size is so big, it is prox. more than a half centimeter bigger than in your previous Vista Ultimate theme!
I figured that it is because the Start Orb now, when it is a full circled, but in original Vista OS, when you stretch the TaskBar&StarMenu to one vertical level higher than normal, he put Start Orb into middle, and the TaskBar&StarMenu is not so big in vertical line, as in yours SevenVG RC theme.
I download this theme via: [link]

I hope that you meant on that Theme of yours as "SevenVG RC Basic version"...

And, in addition, I still cannot be able to figured how to put the Name beside the User Picture, when you press the Start Menu in MSWinXPSP3 but with your theme on it...

To best describe what all I wrote yesterday and today and here right now, I will post hear a drawing illustration, as picture always valid a thousands words...:

[link]

End last, I really hope that You will not feel like I am criticizing You in any way! This is not an issue here at all! In fact, totally contrary, I really admire what You all done to the Community in generally, and I just issued some the problems that I have it personally, or I rather see in your great themes...

~ Once more thank You & best regards from Bruno!!!

Vishal-Gupta In reply to Brunej [2009-04-01 06:22:26 +0000 UTC]

As I earlier said its a limitation in XP. You can either have small cut-off start button (in case of small taskbar) or full start button (in case of big taskbar).

Windows 7 is new OS and Vista is old now. Windows 7 contains big taskbar which is called Superbar and the same has been incorporated in SevenVG theme.

I apologize but nothing can be done to get.

Dear Vishal-Gupta;

I'll really hope that you will read all this, and respond in any way all here...

I do not even need to comment something that you already very well know, and that is, of course, the very unbeatable fact, that this Theme of Yours is the best Vista theme for WinXP! Period.

~ Very great Thank You for it!

However, during last, more than a half a year actually, I was planning to send You one big request. Finally now, I am boldly deside to ask...

Well, I have some suggestions to plead to fix it / support it in this Theme:

a) When I right context menu with a mouse, unlock my MSWinXPSP3 Taskbar and Start Menu, and manually drag and "lift it" to one higher level on my Computer Desktop, well, the Windows Orb is not the whole one, the whole circle - its bottom is cut of / sliced.
It is difficult to explain what I mean actually, If needed I will post the picture somewhere (Imageshack, or by e-mail, or any similar), as picture always shows a thousand words...

b) I have one laptop which I gave to my father. He just play a Clabber, Solitaire, Flipper games, not using laptop to much... But, he do not see anymore as some years before, so, he ask me, can I make letters fully black, and not so brighten colored as they are in the Start Menu - All Programs section... I do not know how to make them black colored...

c) Can you make still a support for an option, that can, as just an option, put back our names beside a User picture in the totally upper part of the Start Menu. In RTM Vista it is gone as an option, last really supported by Microsoft in older Win XP OSs, I know..., but I just ask, can this be still made all here as an supported option by You...

~ Once more, very great thank You for all the beautiful things that you made for community in generally till now, and very great thank You in advanced for any of the above mentioned of mine request / suggestion / supported issues, and for Your answer to all of this in advanced! ~ Best regards!

Bruno.

Hi Bruno

I'm glad you like the theme.

1. Its a limitation in XP. But if you use new SevenVG RC theme, you'll get full start ORB.

2 & 3. Use SevenVG RC Basic version and you'll get both issues fixed.

Brilliant theme but I have one or two small issues.

1) This is only minor, but after two or three days, the theme decides to change my uxtheme.dll, and the title disappears from the top of the window in explorer. It messes up some themes, like the default Luna, where the start menu text disappears.

2) I would like it if the black theme were done to the same effect as the blue one, and not done in the same style as the basic.

Apart from that great theme.

I have followed your tip to bring back the blue bar in office 2003, but it only works with the Aero32 color scheme; is it possible to use the Black32 scheme without losing the blue office bar? And is there a way to use the metallic one?

Thanks for your help.
