we got a new printer
guess what...

it doesn't work

Whitewolfprint In reply to catluver7 [2012-09-27 02:14:41 +0000 UTC]

yeah you can put a paper up to the screen and trace it onto the paper with a pen or something (I've done that with lots of my plushies cuz our computar crashed at one point and when it started up again the printer didn't work)it works exactly the same as printing it (Just takes mroe time)

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have a two year old who has a tiny Rainbow dash plastic figurine that she adores and tries to hug, and I really want her to have a plushie. Thank you sooooo much. Now if only i can make it...

Hi! First of all I want to thank you for putting up this pattern. I have been wanting to do these ponies for my daughter for awhile but didn't know where to start. So I just finished this Pinkie Pie. I made her larger and all. I was wondering if maybe I did something wrong when sewing on the hoofs. They look weird to me. If I did, what can I do to for the next one. I probably read the instructions wrong somehow. here is the link [link]

ToxicKiba In reply to mexgirl006 [2012-09-04 14:45:40 +0000 UTC]

actually what caused the odd shape isnt the hoof peice but the leg. where you sew places E1-5, it needed to curve upward, toward the body like the pattern shows but it looks like instead you cut the curve down toward the hoof.

its an easy fix next time you make a pony and i think Pinkie pie is still adorable even with the altered hooves

mexgirl006 In reply to ToxicKiba [2012-09-04 18:38:04 +0000 UTC]

I'm thinking it was how I sewed the hoof to the leg that did that lol. I'll do one leg separately before starting another pony to make sure I will do it so it comes out normal looking. And thank you!

They do look a bit odd, but it's hard to tell from that angle. Do you have a close up of the bottom of the hoof?

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to mexgirl006 [2012-09-04 05:20:01 +0000 UTC]

Hmmmm. It really shouldn't be bowing up like that. When you traced out the pattern pieces, was the hoof bottom piece circular? it looks almost like the pattern was distorted.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mexgirl006 In reply to Voodoo-Tiki [2012-09-04 18:38:51 +0000 UTC]

It was circular. I'm thinking it was the way I sewed the hoof on to the leg

I am going to have to try this! I was looking at some of the results, and the nose looked a bit flat on some of them.... Is there anyway to avoid that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to VeryBerrii [2012-08-25 20:17:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah - be sure to clip the seams and stuff it very firmly with small pieces of stuffing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VeryBerrii In reply to Voodoo-Tiki [2012-08-25 20:19:49 +0000 UTC]

When you say clip the seams, what does that mean exactly? Sorry, I'm new to plushing.... Thanks for the help!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to VeryBerrii [2012-08-26 01:37:51 +0000 UTC]

You make small, regular cuts in the seam allowance - there's a picture here (the sewn line is red). It sort of relaxes the fabric along curves so it looks nicer when it's turned and stuffed: [link]

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to NatalieCosplay [2012-08-22 22:09:01 +0000 UTC]

Just regular 8.5 by 11 paper. It's better if you use cardstock.

I made one to with your pattern and it looks good, only it's head seems to be a little oval in stead of more round.
