Nice lightning. I think that you should dark the black areas with levels or curves, they're not black enough

Thanks for mentioning that, there was a blue cast everywhere that I couldn't get rid of. I just figured out a trick and fixed it, should look alright now.

I love the soft focus on the light, and the focus on the dark flowers. The light is looking a little bit like a modern butterfly that hesitates before landing on the flowers...

i really like the way the focus is on the flowers by the light. it helps them stand out compared to the rest left in the dark. i like how the light seems to fade and the overall 'at night' feeling this gives...

The details are gorgeous. I love this. The lattern adds a nice gentle air of mystery to it. You know, like the kind when you're exploring a garden at night. I love it. The colors are lovely too.

Thank you. There was a lot of light because the place was lit brightly, but metering on the lantern worked very well in darkening the surrounding.
I'm glad I'm done with the flowers.

You're welcome. And the lantern was perfect.
Why are you glad you're done with flowers? Just on to newer things? I'm done submitting my roses for now. Trying to move on to other things.

Yes exactly. Seems like we went through the whole spring/flower thing at the same time.

I, too, like the subdued lantern and the importance it brings to the flowers near it. Just enough detail, just enough depth. Very, very nice.

cool, not many people think about taking pictures of flowers at night.

Wow! I adore the colours in this... The black really brings out the vibrance of the colour of the flower, and the lantern is a really interesting addition. It blends into the background so that you really only see the shapes of light - I love how everything flows together. It's a really interesting composition; the flowers near the lantern are very defined but the rest seem to blur away, giving a nice contrast and sense of 'not everything is exactly the same'...
Have you ever considered putting your work up for sale as prints? I'm sure that there would be an abundance of interest, and hey, you can make some money off something you do so well! ^^ I know I for one would love to have a piece by you up in my house, though I wouldn't be able to buy anything as I don't have access to online purchasing. I'm sure that more people feel the same way, though ^^ Your work is so gorgeous, I'm sure it would go over well.

Well, thank you very much! Lovely comment as usual I really like how this one turned out.
I need a much better film scanner to offer prints really. My current scanner is not good enough for making prints. But I have to thanks you for your faith in my art.

There's such a mystical mood about this. I really dig the light in there. Beautifully intriguing. And with some wonderful colours.

Its a flatbed, Epson 3170 Photo. Its good enough for film scans for web, but no where as good as real film scanners.
