"I don't care about the Guard’s complaints!" Mlinzi breathed out after singing intensely. “As the Leader, if I see a way to handle the problem myself, I’m taking that chance. I will do everything in my power to assure the kingdom, our family, remains safe.”

“Even so, you’re carrying way too much by yourself…” Nea pleaded after focusing intensely to hear every word, appreciating the fact both of her brothers purposely speak loudly and clearly for her sake. “The whole point of the Guard is to work together as a unit.”

Even though she was the oldest of the three, with all the pressure and expectations of being Leader of the Lion Guard made Mlinzi act as though he was the big brother. No one could blame him for that, with both Kion and Vitani’s guards being so highly praised, there’s no doubt he felt some sort of imposter syndrome.

“For real, the entire reason you have three non-lions in the Lion Guard was so they could use those skills to help!” Anasa chimed in, pointing out how the Guard had not only a Hyena but also a Leopard and Black-footed Cat for that very reason.. “Listen…You’re overdoing it big time.”

“So what if I’m overdoing it? Everything I do is to protect our family!” Mlinzi’s voice quivered at the end, the trauma of that horrible day flashing in his mind. “Nothing will harm our family ever again! Not while I’m here.”

All three couldn’t help but glance back at the cave painting depicting that horrible day. After heavy storms Priderock’s peak suddenly crumbled in a rockslide with Nea and Kovu directly in its path. All Kiara, Mlinzi and Anasa could do at that moment was watch in horror. Both Kovu and Nea survived, however Nea suffered permanent deafness in one ear, mild in the other and all sorts of complications after. Despite her disability, the royal family assured Nea she will still be future queen as long as she wished for it.

“Listen… I get it. We all do,” Nea stepped forward and without hesitation gave a comforting hug to her younger brother. “But what you’re doing IS hurting someone in our family-”

“You, idiot.” Anasa joined in snuggling up into Mlinzi’s big dark mane. He was so big compared to the two, it's no wonder he was seen as the literal big brother. The two could feel Mlinzi’s body flinch at first only to then feel him sniffling, obviously holding back the urge to cry.

“I…Thank you.” Mlinzi closed his eyes and let out a sigh of relief. Maybe he could take it easy for awhile and let the guard handle things.

Nea, Mlinzi and Anasa have a very good relationship as siblings, happy with their roles for the kingdom and work together best as they can.

The cave art, while influenced by the show, I was personally more inspired by how Percy-McMurphy draws those, so I'm giving credit to that for sure.
