Little things about Moira's design tended to be a little inconsistent in the earlier pages (like her bag and the length of her sleeves) so I made a reference for myself to follow when drawing her - and then I figured, heeeyyyy, let's make it a little fancier and put it up here! c:>
It took TWO. DAYS. Of 'fancying' before this looked remotely suitable for dA. Hahaha. If you look carefully at the last three headshots, you'll see they're done in pencil - those are the original sketches from my own personal ref sheet, which had to be scanned in.
The text was originally written with Donahue's voice in mind - which is why it seems a little odd in places. OTZ Halfway though I decided it was best to be a formal as possib;le with this thing. Whoops! I hope you can read my handwriting though - it has a habit of going UP and DOWN.
Moira's crucifix (they do exist in Burning Bridges, although Donny doesn't exactly understand what they symbolize) is worn under her clothes and is never taken off, even in the shower. You can see it clearly when she's not wearing anything to cover it, like in a dress: [link] [link]

I find it somewhat disturbing whenever you draw her, or any other character, with only one eye when the hair isn't actually covering the other eye. But apart form that, your style is really neat and your characters are lovely!

Religion's not a big part of the plot - but it's a fundamental thing in Moira and Donny's society, just like it is in ours. A majority of humans subscribe to Christianity, while pokemon have the Polytheistic (many-gods) Church of Arceus. Arceusm tends to preach being happy with what you have, which is a big reason why pokemon aren't unhappy when humans treat like like a lower class.

I TRIIIIED VELINK. ;m; I get some of my violin references from screencaps of violinists performing. (I don't think Maired Nesbitt's a great reference though - she's so scarily good with her bow. D:> Like, that's inhuman skills she has there, it'd break all suspension of disbelief if Moira played like she did. )
Moira IS a stone cold stick in the mud (even before she meets her mom and Gary in page 2). She's not stoic, though - she's capable of caring for other people and would pretty much crumble and die without Donahue as her best friend.

So Christianity exists in the "Burning Bridges" universe. That's neat, and I got a good smile out of Donahue's weirded-out interpretation of Moira's cross. Did Jesus come to save the Pokemon as well, or are those soulless monsters going straight to Hell?

Pokemon are a fairly recent phenomenon, Jesus might have figured out they'd pop up eventually, but he probably never saw one. He wouldn't hit it off well with them, though - last I heard, he didn't believe in evolution. :v *sneeerrrk*
