Description
A guide, trying to help TOTAL BEGINNERS approach a comic.Um, not sure how much this helps.
I really just kinda tried to summarise what I personally have to say to answer the question:
Hey, do you have any advice for starting a Nuzlocke Comic?
Most frequently, people ask about how much you should have with the plot and what kind of format they should use.
But with many people, I think the problem is more basic. They over-worry the how and they don't do the WHAT.
So the bottom part kind of turned out a motivational speech.
I don't consider myself any kind of authority, and everything I write is POSSIBLY wrong. Take what helps YOU and ignore the rest.
Not sure how much this is good. Please leave feedback. I know it's a wall of text, but, eeeh… I don't really know how to do tutorials.
As far as further tutorials go… If there's demand, I'll try and do similar guides. I don't think I'm any good with actual artistic advice (there's tons of better artists out there) but I do think I can do this theoretical work… question being whether it helps at all. So, yeah, please leave feedback as to whether you found it helpful or absolutely horrible. :T

The comparison of your cities really stuns me. It's amazing how much better you became at them after practice. It makes me want to practice my backgrounds now, because they are seriously crappy and need serious practice.

the only reason why i really haven't worked on my comics is that I've seen how I do with a mouse and it sucks camel balls. I'm really dissatisfied with what is on the screen opposed as to what is on my mind so I'm saving up for a tablet. Since I can work better on traditional art I can just do it that way and wait for the tablet to trace over.
and what is the problem with the opening quotation marks (")? they are on the bottom

Ah, the quotation marks are german quotation marks. I didn't bother to change them. :/ I don't know how to do that in Photoshop...

Mm, I've tried doing comics. My problem is being too lazy to finish them. ^^'
Maybe over summer I'll start on something, just to see what I can do. You've made me think more about doing my Yellow Nuzlocke. (I started writing it, but I don't like how it's going, so I might make it a comic instead, with a better structure. But who knows?)

This is great <3 thanks for the motivational advice! I really enjoyed the contrast between your architecture scenes, especially... how interesting... I'll bear everything in mind when/if I ever do start my own nuzlocke, thanks!

An interesting read. You had some pretty good points. I've actually started one myself, I'm waiting until I have around 10 pages before I start uploading, and I have to say you must have some sort of time machine or clone machine something. I'm doing mine sloppily, no pre sketches, messy lines etc. I'm putting in effort, but the art is definitely sub par my usual (my sister was laughing at me earlier for it D: ). But even with that, I take forever to make a new page. Even without university or work I wouldn't be able to turn them out like you do, and at your quality too. Serious respect for you there.
The hardest part is definitely starting. Once you get something down on paper, everything is just magically so much easier

I'm planning on starting a nuzlocke comic. :> I'm a horrible artist but I can make a rather nice story. So the art I'm leaving to my best friend and I'm doing the story. We are doing two nuzlockes at once. She's doing one starting from White I'm starting the comic at SS. {Though there is backstory from my screencap Yellow nuzlocke. owo} We are going to hit every game that came out.
But I'm doing the story for all of them. She's doing the art. It's going to be a fun collaboration project that we should be starting soon. ^^

..... you have a really good point here, Wass. Thanks a lot ^_^ I usually feel pretty intimidated by the nuzlockes of others, because of the amazing quality of their drawings; I'm going to keep trying to improve my skills, so that I can be happy and proud of the results

Thank you SO much for making this. I have THREE comics I want to start: A Platinum Nuzlocke, a PMD group thing, and a 100% original story. Aside from not having time cause of school, I just didn't know how to begin.
This'll help a lot.

This is helpful for beginners, kudos for doing this ! Although I think that the "wall of text" feeling of this could have been avoided by simply adding frames or changing colors/fonts a bit.

Um, like... I totally knew all of that stuff.
Really though, I did. But A lot of it was from listening to you during your livestreams so thanks for all the help/advice, Wass!
Now, for an ART tutorial...
