Description
A shattered winter scape at a fairly low angle to show that morning sky and reflections of a new sun on the shards of heaved ice. They made for tricky (and noisy) hiking a few mornings ago .. temps were a balmy -15c, which meant I didn't have to bundle up ridiculously nor worry about frostbite just thick pants, long-johns and a parka.. overall a splendid morning!

WOWZER! That is absolutely gorgeous! I love the sharp edges of the ice against the soft sky. That ice couldn't be laid together more perfectly if you'd pieced it together by hand. Great shot!

I'm born and raised Californian, and I refuse to believe that's ice. It's glass, man. Glass. Ice can't do that! ...can it? *squints*
I like the shot overall, but I would be interested in seeing how this same shot would look with the lighting a minute earlier or later. I like the clouds- they look surreal.

It was cold today! Around, oh, 60F. You're lucky to have seasons. I love wrapping up and going out in the cold.
Keep up the icy pictures! Thanks for them!

Another shot that shows just how the perfect lighting and the perfect eye to take the photo makes ice so beautiful.
At this rate I am going to need to win the lottery to buy all of your prints!

You need to make quite a few more ready for prints so when I win the lottery I can buy all of the ones I go gaga over.

the ice melts, breaks, floats, gets pushed up by the waves, and refreezes

again your photos move me, there is so much atmosphere in this shot.
I can hear the ice crunch and crumble as it moves.
Like walking on a frozen lake kinda scarry but an adrenalin rush at the same time.
Beautiful friend

Many years ago my literature teacher taught me to limit the use of overworked adjectives, so I’ll follow his advice and just say this is beautiful. Thanks for braving the elements and risking colds and Buckleys in order to provide us with images of nature's beauty.
