Description
A shattered winter scape at a fairly low angle to show that morning sky and reflections of a new sun on the shards of heaved ice.They made for tricky (and noisy) hiking a few mornings ago .. temps were a balmy -15c, which meant I didn't have to bundle up ridiculously nor worry about frostbite just thick pants, long-johns and a parka.. overall a splendid morning!

What I really like about this is how soft and mellow the clouds look, and how the shards of ice so completely contrast that.
Another thing I like is that the clouds sort of lead my eyes one direction, and the ice leads the eyes in a completely different direction.
A pleasant sort of conflict.

Wonderful shot!
I like the daylight mirrored in that shards. They seem a mix of polished marble and glass. And also the colour balancing is good: I see too often, here in dA sunset or sunrise with a over-saturated range colours, these are more soft so that the photo looks more realistic and "cold".
