Deb and I drove 50km out to Silver Islet last evening to catch the sunset on the mist ... we weren't disappointed!I found an ice-cave under a rock along the shoreline and climbed right in. (I can't resist a good ice-cave as some of you know
). The low sun was shining through the ice and it was very beautiful in there... like some other world separated from the cold winds outside.
I held my breath because the mist from it was spoiling this hand-held shot

I love icicles because we never get them where I live, too warm, so they're a wondrous novelty for me. I like the ethereal look of the light behind the ice too

What I find even more incredible was the comment about having to hold your breath. I still can't get my head around how cold your winter is and probably never will. We can breath fog in winter too, but it's usually late at night or just before dawn when it's the coldest, but nothing that would interfere with a photograph. Just miserable little puffs.
