Description
Add color (And a host of other nitpicky changes. One again we see her with her irremovable maid uniform, placed upon her by her cruel Fremp custodian, AREX 783.
The outfit, which Braidy goes to great pains to cover up with her AMAZON uniform, is actually a unique form of robot, or at the very least, an integrated system of nanopincers and self renewing fabrics, that fuels itself off the byproducts of the marshal's own epidermis. The model applied to Braidy's skin was a prototype, created specifically as a punishment for her history of dogged resistance.
Marshal Braidy still bears the scar left behind by prying off her Motor Control Chip, as well as this humiliating uniform, as reminders of her lengthy indenture.
1.) AMAZON Anti Maidification Army for the Zealous Obliteration of Nomad
2.) Trivia for you history buffs. When WWII general, George C. Marshall was given his fifth star, he refused to be referred to by the title of "marshal", as his rank would indiccate, on the grounds that her did not wish to be called "Marshal Marshall".
Instead, he chose the title, "General of the Army."
AREX 78 is an older model Benefactor, as its serial number indicates. It is also the present custodian of inventor, tinkerer, and enthusiastically Volitional Maid, Rebecca Dean--in case anyone was curious.

Yes, and Rebecca's owner. I had some ideas of having him brought back to AMAZON HQ, when 'Becca was finally rescued. (She may surrender only under the condition that the Greenskirts don't harm the robot.)
Once at the AMAZON base, I could see 78 totally messing with Braidy's mind. Perhaps he has the means to remove her outfit. (Perhaps? Of course he would maintain such an ability.)

I was thinking more along the lines of Hannibal Lector, as he played endless mind games with Clarice.
I must confess to a slight fixation with Jody Foster as she stands in helpless awe of the professor's intellectual prowess. As he plays with and manipulates her, it's like she's bound tightly by his words. I was thinking that 78 could be attempting to exert his dominance over his one time prisoner.

Haven't thought of that one. But I will say that a certain blonde AMAZON commander was there the day after the human Trehan forces fell, and the surviving women were rounded up into sports stadiums and public malls and told that they were to enjoy the mercy of their conquerors and spared so that they may serve throughout time as French maids.

That's why I am here..to think up the weird things no one else does
Jeesh..now that had to be a speech that went down like a lead balloon.
Hehe..now I am having thoughts of FMP "bloopers". The first time the dressing looms were used and put the clothing on backwards. The machines trying to use human slang in commands and telling the maids to, "Hop to it", and they take the command literally. The first time they encountered an AMAZON soldier that destroys one of their own and they all pause with a WTF reaction.

I could see the slang bit happening. When the maids reluctantly obey, and manage to stay upright, the robots decide that the needn't bother ever untying their legs.
As for AMAZON, I could imagine the robots first discussing the resistance in front of their maids, until they see the hopeful look in the captive's eyes. From then on they would refrain as much as possible from discussing it in the presence of their charges.

It makes me think, would increasing the durability of the Safety Belts be a good idea? it would be, as that would make it impossible for it to be cut by things with sharp edges such as knifes, daggers and swords.

Your instincts are quite sound sir.
You are correct in assuming that the durability of Safety Belt material would have been improved, and would continue to be bolstered in the intervening years since Braidy's departure.
Present Bluetape formulas produce belts that are exponentially stronger than those used to restrain Braidy, while also being lighter and more breathable. They are also quite resistant to most edged instruments.
As a matter of fact, the Polar Bears (Widely recognized as the cruelest ans most sadistic of the Dragonslaver Bears.) have been long in the habit of leaving their swords unattended in the presence of one of their maids, so they may hide and watch surreptitiously as the women waste their time in vain attempts to cut their Safety Belts on the weapon's edge.
When the maids realize the futility of trying to free themselves in this manner, many become just one step closer to surrendering and accepting a bell.

I can see that. I tried to make the character eight heads tall, to make her appear more statuesque, as opposed to someone like Prin or Portia, who are each six heads tall, but looking at this again after all these months I can see where she does look a tad pin headed.
It's amazing. Nothing reveals the flaws in a old drawing more that the passage of time.

First I should say that Braidy doesn't parade around the halls of Themiskyra as she is pictured above. Normally, she has her uniform, or armor, concealing her permanent maid's frock from view.
I the picture above, Braidy is most like in her cabin, contemplating her burdensome responsibilities. It would be rare for her to be seen like this.
Perhaps an over eager aid, coming to the door without remembering to knock, would catch sight of her maid outfit. Perhaps she would, "let her hair down" for one of her confidants-- the other marshals, or a trusted lieutenant--and let them see her maids frock. But whatever the circumstance, when they do see it, they feel a sense of awe, remembering that this woman escaped the Fremps, with no support, no help, and no rescue.
So I would say definitely reverence.
Okay, maybe Andrea Masters take note that Braidy's "cantilevered superstructure" is larger and more pert than her own and jealously snort, "Show off" under her breath, but everyone else would be reverent.

Come to think of it, I'm surprised the symbiotic uniform only replenishes itself with the subject's epidermis; they oughta make them disassemble other clothing materials, so that they can't be covered up.

As sexy as the dress is on her, I find myself more interested in the psychological impact an irremovable maid dress is having on her.
I wonder if she has dreams/nightmares of her happily serving the FMP overlords, to suddenly wake up and see that she's still wearing the dress. >

Ah, so even capturing some Dressing Looms won't help her get out of it. Interesting.
What might be fun is if she finds herself in situations where being encased in her nano-uniform saves her. Stopping an assassins bullet, transforming into a bodysuit to protect her from a hull breach, etc....
You could even have the uniform be somewhat intelligent and trying to start a Shelley/Honey-like relationship with her, whether she likes it or not.

I had thoughts that it would siphon fatigue chemicals form her system, and allow her to stay alert longer, and handle more stress, but you've come up with some very interesting ideas here.
If this were to come to pass, I could see her actually missing the thing when its gone.

Maybe not. The only way I could see her really missing it is if the Femps start deploying tactical nude bombs, often leaving her the only clothed soldier on the field.

Well if you want to know how they replenish their ranks, they usually enlist the women they've rescued from maidification. Also, the always welcome all runaways, adventurers and conspiracy theorists, who find their way to Sherwood Cluster.
If you're asking how they make babies, the same way everyone else does, only they have to be very careful about whom they date.
For instance, Air Marshal Masters is secretly involved with Marc Green, the captain of MRS Galahad, the Lenscruiser assigned to surveil Sherwood Cluster. He was assigned this remote posting as a punishment for failing to detain Admiral Masters' daughter when it became evident she was going to defect to AMAZON.

The reason that, unlike the rest of the world, the Rank above General is called General of the Army in the US, as opposed to Marshal (Field Marshal etc) is that Geroge C. Marshal, then Chief of Staff, Refused to be called Marshal Marshal.
