Description
Another Prin pic. Here we see her out of her Scramble Gown and in a regular AMAZON infantry soldier uniform.
Yea, yea, I included the long forgotten stiletto combat boots. I suppose I could say that Prin is wearing them so she can march at eye level with her more statuesque comrades, but the truth is, I just felt like drawing them here.
The weapon she's holding is not a SWITCH gun, but rather a very powerful "slug-launcher", that AMAZON's like to deploy against pulse hardened FMP assets.
The name of this particular weapon is an EGOR, for Expanding-Gas Operated Rifle. As you might guess, Prin is as proficient in the use of this weapon as she is with a Chainmore, but she prefers the more intimate touch of the latter weapon.

So basically Prin uses normal boots on occasion? Or the stiletto ones are the standard issue?

She does wear normal boots. I was initially going to have the stiletto boots be the standard issue, but I could't escape my own pesky sense of realism. It like having the option, but truth be told, the high heels would be a nightmare in combat.

Well that being the case, I picture these would be used in combat, only a tad taller xD, given that they already look like the stiletto onesΒ i00.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/16β¦

Hey, great piece, great girl and great heels. I just have one problem with this; the gun is far too small. It's not even a bullpup, and it looks just long enough to be a full-sized rifle on her, meaning it is a carbine for a normal-sized person. This is completely at odds with the descriptions you gave of Egor being a BFG. For a basis of the design, I would suggest the PTRS, maybe with the snail-drumb mag you have there, some rails, and a mortar slung under the barrel. Or one of those ginourmous suad automatics from "Aliens". In any case, my M91 Mosin Nagant is larger than that gun.

You make a very good point regarding the disparity between the gun pictured and my written descriptions. The weapon you suggest is particularly interesting. I might give some thought to a redesign.

Although, on second thought, the SWITCH gun looks on the scale of a submachine gun, so a carbine-sized firearm would be seen as "oversized".

She's like Batman. You know, if he was an adorable, pink haired girl.

I love the fiction surrounding your characters, of course.
Prin looks so mild-mannered - except for, you know, the high-heeled combat boots, rifle, and lovely uniform.
There is, of course, nothing wrong with drawing high heels for no other reason than gratification. I'm glad you at least -tried- to give them a purpose.
And besides, I'm certain Prin's height will come in handy - uncalibrated FMP robots might start autotaping her torso or thighs first, giving her a scant few seconds to fight back!

we-r-nomad In reply to phantomdotexe [2011-07-17 21:02:15 +0000 UTC]
Actually that would work just fine. Since Prin now uses a Scramble Gown, the armored "kilt" would protect her legs from such impediments.

Perfect! The Scramble Gown is a cool concept. I think my main like is the simple fact that its awesome and o'er-the-top design has a purpose.
I honestly love concept art, and I usually get my fix at places like creativeuncut.com. Architecture, characters, environments, vehicles; I love seeing the design and ideas. The Scramble Gown is another piece of technology that actually serves a purpose. It annoys me when designers simply throw in their item without thinking what it -does- or how it -works-.

Perhaps I should just call the rifles GOR weapons so I look like I'm making a clever reference.
I never knew there was a precedent for combining science fiction and this particular type of fantasy.

we-r-nomad In reply to zarsh [2011-07-05 20:45:13 +0000 UTC]
Yes, in a way I'm going back to my roots. I made up AMAZON initially because I wanted to do a "Delmos at War" series of drawings, but wanted to have characters and equipment of my own design.
I got a little off course with the armored CAT Suits and got away from the "Stiletto-heeled soldier-girl" aesthetic for a time, but I figured there was still a place for it in this universe.
This uniform will be the standard garb of the "red-shirt", the rank-and-file girls who get tied up by capture drones, to show that the situation is serious. Then the CAT-Suited heroes can swoop in and save the day.
Another note on the image. I didn't ink this one. I noticed that the line work in anime is very thin and delicate. I thought I'd experiment here and color in my thin pencil line and see how it looked. Seems to have worked.
