DISCLAIMER! I do not claim to be an authority on drawing men, this is only one of the many methods and it's very far from the best.Still, I hope it is informative, and that it will be helpful especially to anime/manga-style artists who are tired of drawing bishounen and want to draw manly men for a change.
I'm not very satisfied with this really, I feel I should have drawn more examples (or better examples at the least). If there's anything in my handwriting that you can't read, tell me so and I will translate the hieroglyphics...

Oh, it looks like you've beaten me to this. I was thinking about making something like this forever ago, mainly because I am so tired of the girly men. It's nice if that's the artist's personal style, but there are distinct differences between male and female that a lot of people simply ignore.

Thank you for the tutorial. I always had problems drawing masculine faces; there was always something not right, so much of my drawings ended in the basket... Now, I guess there is hope for me to improve my characters.

I really find nothing wrong with bishies - it's best when you can draw BOTH. While I love my girly men *siiiigh* it's good to be able to make them look like men when I want. Thanks for this - it'll be really helplfull to break me of the habits that automatically try to turn my men into girls. most are SUPPOSED to be, but hey, it's good to have both.

Thanks a ton for this! I really need help on drawing men. I can do children and teenagers just fine, and I'm pretty good with women, but I have trouble drawing the right facial features to make male characters look more mature, or like "manly men".

This is great! It's hard sometimes to find a really masculine face with the popularity of bishounens.
Though I do have a rather effeminate looking guy-character myself... (I blame that Rennisance art!) XD Ah, well I guess it adds to his personality somewhat.
But thanks for this grea referance, though there are more ways your's is nicely compact and handy. Ah, now all I have to do is get the hang of a well sculpted male body. Those darn muscles.
