My drawing class had to create a piece that incorporated elements from the school's boiling room (pretty much pipes and tanks) as well as other imagery. We were told to "use the boiler room as a metaphor for something else—something below the line, under the radar, out of sight and/or overlooked." So... I chose to relate the boiler room/water system of the building to the circulatory system of the human body.

The tank-like structure is supposed to be his heart. I even looked up the anatomy of the heart (since I've forgotten everything I learned about it in Biology...) and made it so that each pipe would correlate with an actual vein or artery. I relearned some fancy words - like "aorta" and "vena cava" - but more importantly, I'm pretty happy with how this came out, though there's still some spots I'd like to touch up. ^^
