Lisaba was born into a rather stable pride, with good hunting and shelter, if a bit more traditional. She was born with a birth defect that messed up her right eye, and made vision and focusing a bit difficult on her. Lisaba was often the victim of teasing due to her eye, and struggled in games and hunting lessons. However, Lisaba was a resilient cub, always trying again and again until she developed her own moves and skills. Despite her physical disability, she was a smart and cunning cub, always finding the best hiding spots or a new way to hunt, and became one of the most cunning cubs of the pride. In addition, she didn't get angry very often, and was known for her calm demeanor among the cubs, even if she did cause the most trouble.

As she grew into a teenager, times got tougher. The cattle the pride relied on was now riskier to hunt, as the human settlement had been growing, and was now fighting back. The pride became more and more on edge, and Lisaba, in this difficult time, was struggling to find her place as a huntress with the lack of food. As she became a young adult, she was left to care for her younger cousins, Sheena and Weena, and she finally decided there was no hope left for their pride, and so she left, taking Sheena and Weena with her. The three traveled and happened upon Brond, one of their old pridemates who Lisaba recalled. The group agreed that there was safety in numbers, and started traveling, leaving their home behind.

As Lisaba got older, she became pregnant and gave birth to a single cub, a boy named Mruki, who became quite spoiled as she was very laid back at the time. The group found a possible oasis, a place called the Pridelands, but the local pride was not keen on having new members, and so time and time again they were kicked out by King Mufasa. By this time, Brond, annoyed and eager to kick start his bloodline, decides to settle in the Outlands, even with it's scant prey and shelter. Tragedy soon strikes when after facing a small group of hyenas from the Pridelands, Brond and Lisaba's now teenage son Mruki come down with a disease and isolate themselves. Lisaba is worried for her son, despite his spoiled attitude, and checked up on them when she could. When they were found dead, she was devastated.

Not long after, Lisaba found herself pregnant once more, and she gave birth, this time to a girl named Kipande. However, there was bad news: for some reason or another, Lisaba was not producing milk, and she worried her daughter would starve, as both Sheena and Weena's cubs were too old and didn't need milk anymore. Only a few days later, a lioness named Zira happened upon the small group, and after talking, offered to nurse Kipande alongside her two small cubs, Vitani and Kovu. Lisaba was eager to agree, but Sheena was wary, and eventually made the final decision. Now, with Kipande's life saved, Lisaba looked up to Zira gratefully, and became very good friends with her.

The small group listened as Zira listed her own annoyances with the Pridelands Pride, and the group decided to keep together and enact revenge. The cubs grew and as they did, Lisaba, Sheena, Weena, and Zira all trained and encouraged them to learn fighting moves, and the cubs grew stronger every day. Eventually, as the cubs neared young adulthood, Zira's plan took action, and they sent Kovu in to get into Simba's good graces. In that time, fearing a war, Sheena trained the others extensively, with Lisaba teaching them all she knew in the world of cunning.

When the battle finally struck, the Outlands Pride was quickly beat down. Lisaba, now much older, recognized that she was outnumbered and outmatched, and surrendered. The Outlanders were given a chance to coexist with the Pridelanders, and while the younger lions weren't very happy with this change, the older lionesses, like Lisaba, just had to accept it, and not long after joining, Lisaba passed away of old age.

And now Lisaba, a.k.a. Lazy-Eye. Lisaba is another member of Brond's Pride mentioned in the first draft of the Lion King, 'King of the Kalahari'. She's the final member of generation 3, so we'll be moving on to generation 4, hopefully sometime before school is back in session. Enjoy!
