Description Octopus, 18 x 12 x 10cm, Tenino sandstone. This is a full 3-D stone sculpture, and this is one of many angles of view.

A very fluid sculpture. I like it Looks like an octopus might have posed for long enough for a good reference to be made before you sculpted it.

Thanks. Ironically what I like is how plain the stone is. It makes you look at the form, rather than the material.

heh, I'm a Geology major and have always liked rocks. Not many stones are just plain to me. But the texture and what color shifts there are in the grains just add to the feel I think.

That good old Tenino Sandstone. I like its texture too, though there are projects for which I will seek out other stone.

Excellent rocks here. Some lovely rock formations in Oregon too. All those small pieces cemented onto the main land mass.
