These two have definitely been through a lot. And I also like dragonfirelight's interpretation of what's happening in this piece. But... why is she sad? I would be honored to serve the forest after my life.
Anyway, good job. This really makes me think. I like the earth-y theme here, along with the branches which seem to be reaching out - slowly, methodically...

So emotive and inspiring! The way they seem to be transforming into trees and the absolute misery the woman seems to feel is, magnificent... in an almost depressing way. The quote really suits it.
