I thought I'd try a short MLP comic. Something so cute seems a natural for my art, so I figured it'd be fun. And it was.
Here, Fluttershy thinks her new friend "Harry" (Hairy, get it?) is adorably cute. And as a tarantula owner myself, I agree with her! XD However, not everyone shares our adoration of hairy things with lots of legs. I thought Rarity would be the one who would be most freaked out by a giant spider, no matter how cute. But of course, she still tries to stay polite.

Love the comic! And fun fact: no tarantula bite has ever been known to be deadly to a human. If a human has died after receiving a spider bite, it is generally due to a bacterial infection. Spiders are misunderstood!

How do you prevent a tarantula from sinking its fangs into you? They're not like snakes, where you can look them in the eye and get an idea of what mood they're in.

Tarantula fangs aren't strong enough to penetrate human skin. If they do bite you the worst you'll get is a rash, unless you are allergic to them. The only reason people think they are deadly is because Hollywood likes to use them in movies, because they are big and scary looking.

This is the first time in my life someone has actually made an arachnid look cute. Normally, I detest spiders and believe that no creature with eight legs, 6-12 eyes, fangs, and that liquifies its food with venom, is a creature God would create.
In this case, and ONLY this case, I'll make an exception. Only Fluttershy could make a spider adorable.

Bah! Tarantula's are adorable! Especially pink toed tarantulas. Something with soft fuzzy pink toes like that jsut can't be considered uncute I think XD

And I just re-read the chapter of the older version of 'Through the Eyes of Another Pony' where Fluttershy finds a huge spider cute and Firewall flees in terror from the huge spider when Pinkie puts on her face and chases him with. ^_^;;
But I must agree with Rarity. If a spider was that close to me and not in a cage I would be gibbering with insane amounts of fear. O_O
