I don't think she is a lesbian, but I don't think she is straight neither. She is a cartoon pony. Sexuality doesn't exist in a world of cartoon character, usually.

I'll admit I like femmeslash pairings with Rainbow Dash, but even then I don't think Rainbow Dash or any of the characters have any sexualities, except possibly Rarity and Spike. However, it's not supposed to be a romantic show.
I'm a pretty flexible shipper, though and can do it for humor and cuteness as well as just for fun

Here's my problem with this statement, true as it may be.
You got the majority of the fan base drawing a lot of pictures of questionable nature.
So when people look up a particular character they are bombarded with tons of very suggestive imagery.
And you wonder why this happens.
Maybe if people stop drawing those pictures, people wouldn't be mislead.
But since when do humans ever do anything right no one truly thinks about their impacts.

The thing that really bugs me about this idea as that it appears to derive mainly from the fact that Rainbow Dash is a tomboy with a rainbow motif. That is incredibly shallow and stereotypical and really just another form of prejudice against gays and lesbians.

And when people pair her with Applejack, who's also a tomboy, it's just as insulting. It's saying, "Hey, these two are tomboys, so they must be gay!"

Um, no, the creators not once say if a pony is straight, gay, bi or whatever, nothing.
Saying "everyone is straight until proven otherwise" is as stupid as saying that all tomboys=lesbians.

Almost all the Yuri and Yaoi couples I know are made up of two straight characters. Why is that I ask you? I find such couples unnecessary and repulsive. Isn't it better to just see the characters for just what they are?

The problem with people is they seem to think that relationships can't exist unless there's sex involved, even in family relationships, friendly relationships, teacher and student relationships, enemy relationships, etc.
It's so hard to find intelligent people with common sense and rational thought these days.
