It's impossible to accuratly reconstruct his fear factor in fanart and such. I made an OC who was supposed to have a likeness but others try and redraw him but he's just too scary to replicate accuratly. One was actually skeleton with glowing eyes and it STILL wasnt as scary. Jeepers creepers this guy strike fear into any child. In a top 10 list he's always number one cause i STILL cant look him directly in the eyes.

You couldnt nail it better than that pal. I still cant look him directly in the face and i'm turning 22 in 4 days. That's a serious impact.

This wasn't the scariest episode, the creepy hunchback used to scare me more than this one

The weird grey creature that says: "You're not perfect." in another episode is much f*cking scarier than this! Please do a UA on it. Recommended level: HORRIFIC!

This was actually one of my favorite episodes xD granted I was in my teens when this aired but still.

It's a great episode and probably one of the most memorable.Β
Thinking about it now, I think Ramses' plagues are actually much scarier than his physical appearance. Drowning people, sending a plague of locusts ( or flies? ) to devour them.

And his catchy albeit maddening theme music plague don't forget that one. In my opinion the most unsettling episode of Courage was The Mask, and not just cause that mask creeped me out but due to some of the seriously adult themes present.

Yeah, I don't think most cartoons have ever tackled domestic abuse as a subject matter. The Mask was also one of the first cartoons I ever saw with an implied gay couple.Β
CTCD really was ahead of its time.

I know right? It included a wide variety of things, really one of the best late 90s/Early 2000s shows out there.

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes of Courage The Cowardly Dog, because King Ramses is a perfect villain, being the ghost of an Egyptian king, who can only rest as long as his ancient slab is with his grave. And yeah, the CGI, modeling, and spooky voice acting makes him even creepier and work even better as a villain. The creators of Courage The Cowardly Dog really know how to make things scary, which is why I've loved the show, so much, since my childhood!

I think the techniques they used really made this show scary!

Like how they knew to change the animation style of some of the characters, like King Ramses and the Violin Girl?

CGI is a great tool, but crappy CGI is the stuff of nightmares. Just look at The Ratboy Genius or Potato Knishes.

I adore when creators make appearances in their own cartoons, like Pen Ward voicing LSP or all of C.H. Greenblatt's cameos in Chowder.

Man oh man, I remember that like I saw it just yesterday. Hellsing Ultimate doesn't scare me. THIS does. And Wormy. It's the reason I have not just lepidopterophobia (fear of butterflies), but flat-out entemophobia (fear of ALL insects).
