Description
Elves, have to love 'em-Note that the idea with this tutorial is only to show you how you can make a good base pic to work from, it's up to you where you want to go from here
Big thanks to for the excellent stock-photo!
Hopefully I'll take this further and make something out of it

Very good things to keep in mind about elves... I'll admit to occasionally falling into the pointy ears=elf trap, but when you explain it like this I can see why that sucks. Thanks!

Hey, I just wanted to say ... this tutorial kicks ass! Thanks so much ... !
I had some problems with making the ears pointy using skew ... I ended up doing perspective and more distort, but I (like *Taynomi ) also have learned much of PS by trial and error, and I was very pleased to discover Merge Down ... That's awesome!
Anyway! My first attempt at making an elf.
Thanks so much!!

Yeah, I've later learned that what works best depends much of the ear in question. I've sometimes had to use more options too, one really has to experiment I've learned much by trying and failing too

You would not believe the things this tutorial did for me!! Everything I've learned about PS has been through trial and error, or from wonderful people like you who take the time to do these tutorials. I've often lamented adjusting things the long and hard and very awkward way - you've made things so much easier for me. Just wonderful!! Thank you so much! [link] My first attempt at using what you've taught me.

Very quick and useful tutorial. I prefer to use the liquify tool to alter features, but I think I'm going to try your method as well. It's always good to learn from others, and I've looked a lot at your works to improve myself.

Thank you Phaere I can't seem to get the hang of the liquify tool myself so as long as this method works I'm sticking to it

Wow, very nice! A very good step-by-step tutorial, easy to follow, and you know what you're talking about. And I agree; too many times have I seen someone put fake ears on a boy and call him an elf. Dude.... lol Good job!

Thanks you! Yes, that has bothered me too. I have a soft spot for elves, lol, and they are NOT suppose to look like humans with pointy ears
