Description
This is the same zergling model as before, the only difference in detail is the bump map, which I hand painted in GIMP. (I don't think this render does it justice, but I'm still working on lighting. The head is my favorite part. ) This was my first time ever using smooth skin, my first time making a rig with IK solvers, and only like my 7th time ever UV mapping anything, let alone something this complex. Feeling pretty good about it.For now this is just a straight recreation of the run cycle seen in SC1, but I plan to have him in a whole scene soon!

WHat program have you been using, and have you been using tutorials?Β
Anyways, GREAT job so far, Robear! Loving this Zergling and cannot wait for more StarCraft goodness from you.

Thanks! I've been using the free student version of Maya, and yes, lots of tutorials. Though it's less that I have one tutorial I could point to and more of an ongoing process of trial and error and then googling "maya ik joint flipping problem," "maya inverted bump map problem," etc., heh.
