the tutorial seems to be cross platform able...so don't worry just use the techniques he taught here in what ever uber program you use now...(btw 3dstudio max has come a long way form version 3 to version 5, I use Maya And XSI mostly but I'm starting to see that 3Dsmax6 is just nearly the same only cheaper.)
