I think this Tarbosaurus is a bit too lizard like, also we have preserved soft, almost mammalian skin from Tarbosaurus remains.

Imprint of bare skin of Tarbosaurus is known from the area of the throat, so it was a throat pouch. The presence of bare skin on the throat can not absolutely mean that the head too was covered with naked skin. I think the snouts of theropods were covered with hard keratin tissue, perhaps bumpy, "scaly" structure, as in crocodiles. It was something between the wattle of birds (such as eagles or parrots) and armored horn cover of crocodile's heads.
