It's time I uploaded some of my latest work. Here's another Anubis mask - he's very popular, and I enjoyed painting the black and gold design here.I'm considering changing the design a little, next time I sculpt him - I've had a chance to study the proper Egyptian Anubis and thing his ears should stand taller and straighter. What do you guys think?

Sorry for the long delay in reply.
First I make the mould that I use to shape the leather over. I sculpt this in clay, then cast it in potter's plaster for durability.
Once I have the mould, I work out the best pattern to cut from the leather to shape the mask, and the leather is then soaked in water and shaped over the mould.

Love the gold highlights, and I would experiment with the straighter and more geometric Egyptian design. This design has a more organic feel, but for a true traditional piece the straight ears may be nice.

if you want it to look more like an anubis you should definitly make the ears larger and straighter, yes.
