Description

Well, despite my tablet fighting me every step of the way, I finally managed to finish this. I was originally planning to include his other forms here, but my tablet is just way too shaky and I don’t have the patience to fight it anymore. Anyway, I was planning to throw together a quick sheet for this little guy, so I would have it at hand for commissioning people who draw foxes. It ended up taking longer than I intended, but I think it turned out pretty good considering the circumstances.

Character Overview

Name: Bastian

Species: Shape shifting red fox, able to take the form of any animal he has seen with his own eyes. Some of the forms he commonly uses are a magpie, cottontail rabbit, gray wolf, mountain lion, whitetail deer, grizzly bear, river otter, and alligator.

Sex: Male

Age: Mid twenties (this is a fantasy story where they have human-like personalities and a human-like society, so, in turn, they have human lifespans).

Height and Build: Average

Distinct Features: Small hair tuft, fluffy ears, and heterochromia in his eyes which causes them to be two different colors.

History: Bastian’s skulk (clan/group) exiled him as a kit upon discovering he was a shape shifter, an ability which they considered dark and unnatural. He was able to survive into adulthood using his powers, but has never been able to find a place he can call home. He’s experienced many cultures and made many friends who never knew his true identity, but it seems he’s doomed to wander forever, never truly belonging anywhere.

Random Facts

Bastian can only turn into animals he has seen with his own eyes.

There’s no real time limit to his transformations, but the one catch is that he must eat and sleep in his true form. If he falls asleep or passes out in another form, he’ll revert back to a fox involuntarily. If he eats in another form, he’ll become violently ill. Basically this means he couldn’t just turn into a rabbit and eat lettuce for the rest of his life. He’s a fox, and he has to eat meat.
