Sorry for all the grammatical errors, I'm not really very good in the English grammar!!!Thank you a lot to for helping me to fix the grammar!!!
When I start this, I was so afraid of what could happen if I ost it, but I'm happy of doing right now!
Before someone say something like: WHO ARE YOU TO TELL HOW MAKE OCs?!?!?! Well, I not order you to read or follow what it says, I did this Tutorial for everybody that would like read it or for those new artists that doesn't know how start their stories and everything! Because today we seen so many gallery of people full of talent but that only does always bishonens or pretty girls (or boys that look like pretty girls), that doesn't risk to try new styles or ideas for fear of what other people could say!
So, if I insulted someone with this tutorial, I apologize and not take it personal because this is my opinion only!

Hi, hope someone can answer, but how do you make comics that scroll?
I want to make a comic but I don't want the pages to be so short, but I can't figure out how to make it so you can zoom in and scroll?
If anyone knows, please do tell. I haven't been able to progress my comic because of this. Thanks

wow this is a late comment, I actually have no idea why I'm commenting
alright so first off, what program do you draw with? Usually with the drawing programs that I have, when you make a new file, they let you choose the length and width of the canvas, and all you have to do is change the height into idk, a big number and the canvas will become huge.
I don't know if you can change the settings for dA to make a multi-zoom (or whatever it's called) function...
but,, if your file is large dA will automatically make an option thing for the deviants to zoom in to look at it.

Here is a short, more useful tutorial:
1. You can't make OC. It's impossible today. Every type of character is already made, so don't stress it.
2. Don't be afraid to use anything the above tutorial said "don't use". For example incest, relationships with children, racism, etc... all this can serve as major plot elements. Ofc you don't need to make them look like something good, but completely not using it sounds kinda ridiculous. Game of Thrones work after all, cos it is not afraid to show elements like this.
3. Don't be afraid to use stereotypes. And most important of all, don't make a PC story! A politically correct story and character is absolutely unrealistic. Reality is not correct.

this is very interesting, and quite helpful ^^ I do have one note though: I don't quite agree with the whole, "Kids can't be super smart or do anything," concept. While it is true that typically adults will have more experience in life, there are such things as child prodigies, and in such cases, kids can be extremely smart or skilled at almost anything. While I realize that this is rare, it is still something that occurs. And even outside of this, children can still be smart and talented. I apologize if this sounded a bit like a rant, I have no ill intent towards you, or this tutorial, I just felt the need to bring up this point. Other than that, it's still a wonderful tutorial

Back story: growing up as a child she was raised on a island of ninjas so she learned the way of the ninjas who lived on that island long ago, one time when she and her younger sister and older sister were coming home, a raid of pirates attacked her village burned the crops in search for one of the 34 daggers of of aura: Dragons gaze. Sierra had owned that dagger for her whole life, she cried to her mother to give them the dagger but her mother refused. the surviver hid in the caverns until they were sure the pirates where gone. during the raid sierra suffered an injury that can not heal, she needs to eat at least 1 Joy fruit a day to survive with that injury. when she turned 14 she left the island hidden on a pirate ship in search for The 33 daggers of aura she needed to have them all...
Personality: quiet, easily annoyed at loud noises, smart, thinks before she acts, calm, keeps ideas to herself and very rarely her friends. cant stand cowards,
skills: stealth, fighting with daggers, great night vision, cunning, agility,
Fears: Beetles (based off me... i am scared of beetles...)

I actually have to agree and disagree with some parts of this.
I like how you try to emphasize the non-cliche characters and backstories. But with the 7 billion people in the world, there's really no possible way to create an original character. However, one can make their OC acceptable by explaining.
For example, the supernatural beings. They probably know they're not human. They might discriminate themselves against the world. That in itself makes up a perfectly good personality for me. Hell, the fact that they don't realize their own strengths in comparison with humanity is an interesting OC flaw that can be developed on.
And to add on, I agree that from a simple friend break-up to the most epic of wars, nearly anything can be a good conflict that can develop into a good resolution.
In a good story, everything is explained and makes sense while being interesting and showing change at the same time. That's the basis of all good stories, IMHO. And also, every character has a flaw somewhere. It's when people don't try to change that flaw that frustrates me.
Anyways, all I have to say.

My OC is basically like Mr. Blank, but it's a female.
She is like any teenage girl, 16. Nobody much thinks about her, but she is really sweet and wise once you get to know her. She remains calm in some situations, but once someone makes insults of her family, things are about to throw down.
Her nickname is Death, but only her friends know about her real name, and it just went on with Death. She is not human. Death was experimented on, and changed drastically into a hybrid of a werewolf and vampire (I know, it sounds cliché) but Death already knows how to control herself in bad situations.
Her mother has disappeared. Death thought she was dead at first because she didn't really take a good look at the body, so Death ran out to where her friends, Sheryl and Salina, found her, and stayed together ever since.
Death's real name is Kelsey, just to let you know.
Death's enemy, Carlos, has had his son, Zach, to stalk Death and her friends, and report any weakness or strengths. In the end, when Death figures out that her mother is alive, she goes through any risk to save her mother from the clutches of Carlos.
Death is like any teenage girl, but she keeps a blank face on, but when it comes to her friends, she can be fun and crazy.

Well, my favourite OC is really girly and sweet, a bit clumsy and shy. She does most things wrong, a bit like miss Moe.
But not quite.
She is really antisocial and afraid of everything. She suffers from depressions but easily gets over them, however. She thinks everybody is against her and she actually has a rather fiery temper sometimes.

The stereotypical character types reminds me of anime characters. Mr. Shota = Yugi Muto, Mr. Shonen = Ash Ketchum.
I think Step 2 might have some interesting information. Like with having in-between emotions.
I disagree with non-humans not wanting to be human. Almost always, the point is that, despite them being more powerful or immortal or something, people have emotions and are 'real'. You can definitely turn it around, where there's no way a human would want to be a robot, despite being stronger and immortal. I think usually in these types of stories about non-humans, the non-human somehow gets a taste of humanity, but they know it's fake or that they can never have those true feelings. the non-human may even be human, but not believe it because they think it's impossible, and that's why they spend the whole time wishing they were human.
I understand that it's your opinion that anyone would be silly to trade stuff for being able to feel, but it's not the only opinion.
There's also the stories about the super-star or whatever, who just wishes they could be like everyone else. I also agree with that, depending on the individual. Famous people often have no private life, and can't go out in public like other people can. There's also a lot of work involved most of the time. I'd always wished I were famous in some way, but that doesn't mean I can't emphasize with characters who are but wish they weren't.

Ten years between romantic partners isn't much, as long as both are over 18. It's a percentage thing, where the older you are, the bigger a range you have. I'm 26 and I would probably be okay with dating someone who's 40 or 45. (though, when I was 8, I liked guys in their 20's, so... But, I'd never thought about actually going out with anyone, I just thought they were the most handsome) But I think it would be weird to date a past teacher or someone you grew up with.
What do you mean by 'promise of childhood' and 'something better than marry'? I don't understand the words you used there.

oh. That's just ridiculous. ^_^" What kids would seriously want to get married - and then even take it seriously? Though, perhaps it's an asian tradition or something... It could be common where arranged marriage is a tradition. So I guess it very much depends on the world of a story. But even where it's common, it probably would be nice to break tradition every once-in-awhile and throw in something new.

Hmm, what about a robot/android who doesn't mind not being human and yet wants to feel human emotions? You say that emotions get in the way of things, which gives the robot an advantage, but that also rules out love and hatred. Mightn't the robot want to feel those emotions?
