Description
I get a little tired of people implying (or just outright saying) that anything fatter I draw is always better (no matter how much work I put into something I've just drawn that just happens to look "slimmer" pay no attention to higher quality line art folks!).
I was feeling a bit more irked about it last night than usual, I decided to make a statement with this little "tutorial"
Yes, I could just draw super fat things, yes I could do drawings in 5 minutes flat... why wouldn't I? because I care about quality.
Admittedly I'm just an amature artist, and I don't have nearly as much talent as most people here on DA, but at least I care about some of the art I do.
Bring out the flame throwers
Post Production note: "Looks" was a typo, and I'm too lazy to go back and fix it

YES! YES!! YES!!! This is just something that just HAD to be pointed out!!!!
Aw, man! I back you on this 100%, and it has become a favorite!!!
And notice it's always the same pile of chewing gum, piece after piece after piece after piece?
Oy ...
Haha, my girlfriend is gonna love this! She agrees with this, too! Just like those balloon belly artists .... take one skinny body, add a balloon for the belly, add generic anime face, and voila!
Thank you for saying exactly what i've been thinking!!

yeah, well everyone seems to have different tastes I guess... It's generally always best to draw what you like. (otherwise it'll turn out like crap)

You have to remember, there actually are some artists out there that try hard to make their work look right, even immobile pictures.
Also, was there a specific group you were targetting when you made this piece? There's a certain margin that I got offended since I'm possibly seen as a no talent hack for drawing said artwork. Is this how you see me? Because when you first started posting artwork (WAY before DA), I saw you like a brother artistically, so it's kind of upsetting if it is a shot at people like me.

look, I'm not attacking a certain art sector with this piece (or at least that's not my intent). I'm using this as a statement as to why I don't think "fatter is always better" with my art. The quality is intensionally bad to prove my point that I *could* draw something much much fatter, and much lower quality, but that it's obviously not better than when I draw the kind of art that I care to do.
It just pisses me off sometimes when people tell me that older pics that I've done, which are obviously of lower quality (pose, realism, balance, etc), are better, simply because they're fatter.

Just popping in here...
First, I'd like to say that while I haven't said much about it before, I do admire your work greatly! While I'm not that much into the whole fat scene anymore (due to past troubles), your 'pleasantly plump' style is very cute, and quite possibly the closest I've seen to a perfect balance of fat and thin. And I agree, alot of times I've seen people draw these so-called "Big Beautiful Women", and always seem to forget the "Beautiful" part. Too many times have I seen piles of rolling flesh that look more like a stack of pancakes than a living being...
That said, I applaud your pursuit of a higher art form than just drawing 'pinups' all the time. It's great that there's another artist out there who actually takes time to put some actual art into their artwork!

I see the message you're trying to get across, and might I add, you're quality of work is of the site's best, but I can't fully agree with this. I mean, there are so many artists who do this, and people like it. I don't really. But then other artists can draw these enormously fat drawings, yet put good quality into it. Not to condem you in any way what-so-ever, you are one of my favorite artists, and yes, I am one of those who long for something bigger, but at the same time, there can be enormously fat drawings with quality, and that is what I see as the "greats."

well thanks. I can't say that I'm really condemning super fat drawings (at least not with any serious intent), I was really making more of a statement about why I don't like doing it, and why sometimes I don't appreciate the vibe I get that "my art would be better if I spent less time on line work and more time on making it fatter"
that's all this is trying to say really.

"I don't have nearly as much talent as most people here on DA" Bullshit, you're one of the most talented guys here.
As for the message behind this piece, I can see what you're getting at. At the end of the day, it's all a matter of preference. Still, people shouldn't make you do what you don't want to.

I have to agree there.
Normally, I'm into the expasion arts. But making them a blob like that turns me off.
I try to avoid drawing the inflatee into a ball shape for the same reason. Just makes it seem to take less effort to create it.

Like the saying 'a cold glass of water on a hot summer day' its nice to see my disdain for anthropmorphic blobs isn't so uncommon. I like puffy, pudgy, fat, zaftig, and well rounded figures, not ballons half filled with pudding.
and don't get me started on the multituid of art that looks like the offspring of MSPaint & a dirty trackball

Wow you have a hell of a lot of comments on this, so nothing i can say will be any different, but all the same i agree with your statement, and what all the others have said, its all about the art, not the fetish.... and if there are people who can't except that just ignore them or tell them where they can stuff it... ^_^
and i know exactly what you mean about Pawg, with my comic's they're always dead until the girl starts getting bigger, they can't appriciate the story or the art work, and all the time spent into making them, they only come to see the Wg. sigh. It'll be interesting how my current comic will draw in more crowds as of the next page...
still i hope you get what your after and those whom are irritating just grow up a bit, your a fantastic artist, one of the classics which is only getting better. Chin up and just do what you want to do (and dont leave, it'll be a shame to everyone if you do).
sorry if i was speaking crap, but i'll leave it at that ^_^

OMGAW IT'S A CLOUD GIRRRRL!!111ONE. Very true what you're saying though, and I think it's true for many things, that there are people who can't look past the subject matter to actually see the picture. :\ I personally love all of your art, though, and I think the stuff that looks the best is probably the stuff you liked doing the best.

heh. its the same kinda with me sept ive driven them away >.> so i dont have to worry about it much <.<
i may be open to lots of forms of art . i may not take wg ,expansion etc art serious . mostly because its not my main objective.
i like to do normal art (well that depends on the others point of view of what i mean by that)
but anyways im not into the whole blob thing unless its in the form of reading but in picture i just cant really enjoy the characters perspectives since its played out without much plot plot sept for a wank off material thing .
so yeah i normal dont draw such unless ask by a friend . from a requester i dont bother at all and ask them to think of something else and smaller.
mostly since i dont know them and wouldnt really have much fun with the idea on paper since they only ask for it from their loins brain without any detail or background behind it . so its pointless to me . whats the point if theirs really no point to it i supoose is what i meant, XD
the forms of art i choose when in expansion is .
(if its inflation by air i want to use perspectives and or angles to bring it more life since theirs really no meaning behind it other then sexual enjoyment so i try putting dynamics into)
(if its water or any sort of liquid i want to add a exspected fatality to it bring in some emotion other then .. "ohh im happy being this big i want or hope to get bigger" for me that line in such expansion is something for stories since its protraied better so yeash the dark side whrn it comes to expansion of the sort on drawing form i tend to not use the happiness feeling even if thats done alot in drawings of expansion for them to meet a sertain doom but meh thats the only way i can see it normally even if its fantasy.)
(then for other forms of expansion i used to do pregger art but i lost interest when i tried to imagin the sexuall activaty from it and the thought creeped me out a bit so i moved to wg . i used t go for the stuffing and force feeding thing but that kinda got boring seeing as it would only lead to
immobility and im not really into that form of fatness myself but seeing it from other when done at a sertain right point is good.)
(as for bbw art i perfer the girl be at a walking size like say shes skinny shes skinny but with some curves though the typ i perfer in curves as in a nice round backside a desent bossom not to small not to big but enough to be smoshed between her arms if trying to hold something in front or leaning while resting her head in a mocking yet reclining position (wish i could explain things better but meh)
now the larger part of the bbw art i like it woulf have to be like how i did that tifa wg comic thats the limit as to how big i'll go with such art.
but i just like the pudgy chubby girl look like the realistic typ bbw art i used to show on here .
so i guess im not really a fan of massive art unless it has alot of detail and looks lively so thats why i mainly perfer the limitations in size when it comes to expansion. hope you understood what i was trying to say from this XD
though their are only very few artist on here that have impressive detail when it comes to immobility art . but without detail it just looks like a perody and insult on unknown aspects the veiwer confuses that it may or may not refer to insault or a fetish done halfars
(i do stuff like halfars art most of the time because i seem to lose interest in it before i see it through.. ^^l
