Though mid is in the lead, I'm almost sure I'll make at least two seperate versions, and one will be made with the top version.

opinion on taskbar:
i definitely vote for a simplistic taskbar, ideally double-height and matte.
i like the look you have for it right now and the use of (what looks to me like) Token icons is great!

I'll make some conceptual taskbars soon, will make a vote to see which is most liked my most, but it seems like simple is popular, so will probably make one like that.

I don't want to tell you how to make this, but you said you were thinking of making a Rainmeter suite. Have you seen anything like this Steam Wheel before or is this what you were leaning towards?

I've seen something like that, just not Steam logo but a Windows logo in the center.
I'm considering many kinds of skins, but I'll probably do something with Steam-like textures, and various functionality.
Still, it's still only a concept in my head, but I'll most probably make some kind of launcher or dock.

It will initially be released for 7 yes, but I'm planning on porting it myself as fast as I can this time.
I have had pretty bad experiences with asking others to do so, sadly.

opinion: i always prefer a solid fill on a progress bar instead of a 'tile' style. i would, personally, prefer flat, white progress bars...

Glad to hear thanks man! I know people knock 8 but with the right apps that replace the full Windows 7 start menu and once you turn off hot corners and force it to boot DIRECTLY to desktop, it really is a fast and optimized OS under the hood. My boot times are great.
Will look forward to a Windows 8.1 version with great anticipation!

Absolutely agree, but sadly, we have too few good skins on our beloved steam, sadly valve don't give a damn about them

Hmm you make an interesting point there, might ask around for others' opinion on the subject, it shouldn't make that much of a difference to make it look like that one.
