Description I've been practising using this 3D software called Metasequoia (I think I spelled that correctly). I finished making a skirt and saved it as a x file. However, I try to open it up in PMD editor and it comes up with this error *^*!!Β

you don't open .x files, you would drag them in like you were adding a part to an existing model.

it may because of the size you saved it as? sometimes Meta exports things as VERY VERY large or VERY VERY small if you leave it at the default settings. you could send it to me in a note and i could try to import it and send it back, if you'd like. I'm not very good at explaining things to be honest. Β

I was messing around with Wizard101 stages in Blender, and I made the stage a little smaller, and I'm trying to open the .X file I saved it as in PMX Editor so that way I can put the textures on it and use it in MMD.
I tried both dragging the .X file in and opening it, but both times, the file just sat there and refused to open. It didn't pop up with an error or anything like that...it just never loaded. I really want to know if there's a way I can fix this...I want to put W101 stages in MMD and teach people on here (preferably who have access to more areas than I do) how to do this crazy long and technical process that- may- pay off in the end with a beautiful MMD stage. (If PMX Editor will just cooperate with me! Sorry about the rant...I'm just really mad about it not working.)

Try redownloading PMD or getting PMX Editor
You should be able to drag and drop in an X file
Don't go to "open" when adding an X file. It doesn't work.
Try hitting "import" and adding in the X file or just dragging and dropping into pmd/pmx.

try downloading a different version of pmdΒ
either that or go to file>importΒ
and import the x file instead of dragging and droppingΒ

Is you metasequoia payed for?
otherwise you won't be able to export it into pmd

or maybe you (like I sometimes did) selected the wrong xfile format when you saved it.

Okay did you maybe dot he second thing I mentioned?

if you didn't do that, you might have something that has too many polys and pmde (unlike PMXe) has a certain Β poly limit.

YukitaKya In reply to ZS-P [2014-03-25 17:06:54 +0000 UTC]

It may have too many polys >.< If I were to make the skirt again, how do I reduce the amount of polys I use?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZS-P In reply to YukitaKya [2014-03-25 17:25:46 +0000 UTC]

(I would have to look at the skirt to see how you could reduce the polys and still keep the shape somehow.)
if it is a simple skirt, than just don't use as many lines going across and up.

I don't know the limit for polys in pmde cause I use PMXe so I couldn't tell you what poly maximum it would have.

an option I would recommend is to get pmxe
but i can understand if you can't. Not a lot of computers can handle it. ;-;
