Here is an extended version of the Flash tutorial that I demoed during my panel
I have prepared all the images used in this tutorial for download so that you guys can have materials to practice with. You can download everything here www.mediafire.com/?rwkpwjusyfq…
I know my tutorial isn't too informative, and my techniques are wildly out of date, but this is how I make my flash comics, and I hope it can help you too if you don't have better techniques already.
The action scripts used in the tutorial are Stop:
Stop();
and go to button:
on (release) {
gotoAndPlay(NUMBER);
}
If you want to learn how to make a customized loading page, there is no better tutorial than 's, I learned most of my stuff from her 2 tutorials . This one by is also very good . For the epic professional stuff with Action Script 3.0 in Flash and other programs, check out this site tutvid.com/ .
If there is a specific step you are stuck on in my tutorial, please visit my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/media/set/?se… where you can comment on the specific page of the tutorial so it's easier for me and others to help you.
I hope it helps!

You have to buy it.
Or you can download it for free which is illegal, but there's a download on Youtube.

As long as you find the video for the full free download and do exactly what the instructions say, it will stay forever.

Thank you very much for this awesome tutorial!
It was exactly what I needed and therefore helped a lot. The descriptions are very good and detailed without containing too much information for a newbie to flashcomics (like me) to digest.
I wish there were more tutorials as good as yours.

Thank you so much for the tutorial! I was thinking to do a flash comic for a college project, so I try to practice this just to know what i'm going to get into.
Everything was just fine until I get to the part of replacing the (NUMBER) for (5).
I keep getting 3 errors : statement must appear within an handler (Stop() at line 1 and unexpected 'and' encountered at line 3 (and go to button
, two times.
I tried to redo everything but i keep getting the same errors. I don't understand why I get those errors when I copy the code on the artist's comment directly. I can't figure out what is the problem :/
Thank you in advance

Alright. So I'm at the whole 'Fade Transition' bit. I've done this a couple of times and re-read your tutorial to see if maybe I did the steps wrong, but the results tend to be the same. That opacity bar is not coming up for me in the properties. I may be a little confused on what you mean by clicking on Alpha. I receive the same Properties screen (minus percentage bar) if I click on the button on the stage itself. But clicking any of the frames in Pages/Tween Alpha turns it back to the default Properties, again with no percentage bar.
If I am doing something wrong, it's going over my head multiple times. >_< Can you help?
